We don’t have an established batting line yet, and as senior, experienced and “responsible” as Youhanna and Inzi are, only they can stick out at that position.

I would have prefered Yasir or Malik for that matter. I always apposed Younis Khan ever since he let himself drown, couple of years ago.

Well, thats a lack of quality players in spots 1-3, then… we can’t ask Inzi and Yoyo to open the innings, just because they should stick out at that position… right?

why they prefer Razzaq over Afridi 
.. Afridi isbowling quite well these days .. plus a good batsman and fielder.. Razzaq bowling sucks as well as his fielding.. Razzaq is a one day player (batsman).

although it may become a moot point, if India takes a staggering first innings lead.. but if Pak can neutralize any lead in first innings... then remember that India is gonna bat fourth, on a broken pitch. Though with only one spinner and three total bowlers... how Pak expects to bowl India out twice is uncertain.

Hey guys....from what I read on Cricinfo...these are perfect conditions for swing bowlers...so please dont be too hard on your batsmen.....Indians could very well have been in the same position , had they been put into bat.
Also, I have never quite understood why Younis Khan can't score more runs given that he is technically solid...but then I haven't also quite understood why Sami averages >40 in bowling in Test matches.

When one of the senior plays in top order, he can guide the newbies very easily. Salman, Taufeeq and Yasir are all good openers but they need guidance, I wish they had played with Saeed Anwar for some time, but this has been asked of both Inzi and Youhanna to take some more responsibility and move up the order but they both declined.

actually even Shahid Afridi is a typical ODI player - but I agree with the rest of the post - plus given the fact that indian picthes are known to crumble in the latter half of the test Afridi would have been a better pick IMHO

I am not sure if taking responsibility will mean giving up their batting order. But then, I am also not sure if a team deserves to win a test match with just two batsmen and 1 bowler (Kaneria). The rest seem to just be there to put 11 bodies on the field.
