1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

Re: 1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

I think Pakistan should adopt T20 style bowling...give the bowlers a 4-over-spel every time so they can get some thinking & planning ( in between) for the next spel...

Eng 65/3

Re: 1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

Spoke to soon, this is what happened next ball:

Umar Gul to Collingwood, no run, 88.3 mph, oh no! Kamran has gone from hero back to zero! Dropped! After just pulling off a stunner he's put Collingwood down first ball, it was wide, Collingwood flashed a cut and edges it towards first slip, Akmal flew across and dropped the chance

I think there is a difference between dropping and missing a catch...dropping is something like that the ball falls into your hands and still falls on the ground...lol

I think he is one of the worst keepers in the world. After his debacle in last tour of Australia where he played like a joker, he shouldn’t even be in the team.
In that tour match-fixing allegations were leveled against him. It does not matter whether those allegations were true or not. In former case he is a cheat and a lier, and in latter case he is a pathetic keeper.

Pakistan cricket is facing a fresh controversy after the video recording of recent PCB inquiry committee proceedings were leaked, displaying visuals of Intikhab Alam and Aaqib Javed suspecting wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal’s involvement in match-fixing on the Australia tour.

Asked about the performance of wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal in the second Test in Sydney where he dropped four catches and missed a run out, Aaqib is heard saying there was something fishy. “I have reservations over the way he (Kamran) missed the run out. When I saw it I couldn’t believe it. How he could miss such a big run out. I can’t say 100 per cent there is match-fixing involved but I have my strong suspicion,” Aaqib says.

guys please just let the lads play they are giving there best at least most of them.

Mashallah. This is Gul we know and love. If only he had bowled like this in the 1st innings too… But this is :k:

Re: 1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

Pakistan need the breakthrough...

Kamran doesn't catch like wicket keepers. He comes too hard and there is no follow through. I wonder if the bowling coaches are any help to him,.

Our second option for wicket keeper (Sarfraz) is very ordinary as well. We should be grooming an allrounder i.e. keeper batsman. I don't see a plan as of yet.

Re: 1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

Even with 5 wickets down for 80, England overall is still leading by 260+ runs.
It looks like Pak has already lost the match. Some 300+ runs would be a far cry for Pak batters.
... unless some miracle happens.

Pak's success totally depends on its second innings batting later on.

yeah and we all know how it turns out...

I knew they were gonna have a hard time getting Morgan out. He's played all the bowlers so well. His wicket is crucial.

Re: 1st Test Pak vs Eng - 2010 in Eng -Nottingham - July 29-Aug 2

98/6

6 wickets down and the score is in double digits. That is England's batting line at home ground and conditions.

'Umar Amin did the chasing, threw it to Kamran, who in turn relayed it to his brother Umar Akmal at the stumps at the bowler's end. Good work from Pakistan - Morgan was diving and only just short'

at least the three did something useful in this test match for a change
