Same is with Pakistan
Elgar 4/19
cricketSimpleto: "India can be proud that they have lost the wickets only to the weakest link of south african bowling attack.. they have played brilliantly against Steyn (to avoid less than 50 all out), Philander (yet another fiver), tahir (to avoid seeing him running all around the ground) and were generous to groom a new bowler. # see the positives and switch off the TV"
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Jadeja and Ashwin Two great all rounder of India is on wicket now. India missing Dhoni

Birthday Boy Kohli scored 1 and his prediction ![]()
Day 1, 4.53 pm At the toss, Virat Kohli had said it looked like a good pitch for batting. It probably was, but here we are.. twelve wickets in the day, nine of them to spinners. South Africa bowled extremely well to pull the rug under India’s feet by making regular strikes. But it was in the second session of the day that India’s chances of revival received a jolt - Dean Elgar picked up four - and India were sent packing for 201. It was spin that dominated the day, with Dale Steyn returning wicketless. The story didn’t change in the 20 overs that South Africa batted. The ball spun sometimes to create doubts and the straighter ones brought India wickets.
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Yes it was pathetic. Murali Vijay played well for 75 and may have been tad unlucky to be given lbw. Was close so drs won't change decision. Pujara was settled before getting out lbw that did appear out. Dhawan does not belong in test cricket. Jadeja and Ashwin good rear guard action. Haven't heard of the bowler who took 4 wwkts
Tahir googly good Yadav and Aaron the same way - bowled in same over
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015

India 193/9 (72.1 ov)
India lead by 210 runs with 1 wicket remaining
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Styen didn't bowl in 2nd inning so this will be only 3rd time when he was wicket less in a Test
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Saha is playing role of Dhoni
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
India 201 & 200 (75.3 ov)
South Africa 184
India lead by 217 runs with 0 wickets remainin
I think only AB can deliver something special else no way ![]()
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
So South Africa will have to chase 218, with the third innings ending just after lunch on day three. Four for Harmer & Tahir, but it was the part-timer van Zyl's dismissal of Kohli that kick started the Indian collapse - 8 for 39. The highest team total thus far this game has been 201, and that was in the first innings. This will take some effort from the visitors
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Sir Jadeja and Ashwin in business
SA 9/2
2.2
Ashwin to du Plessis, OUT, Ashwin now, South Africa two down early in the third over, lovely delivery, tossed up, drifting away, ending on off, straightening, Faf pushing, and the edge carrying nicely to slip
F du Plessis c Rahane b Ashwin 1 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66
1.1
Jadeja to Philander, OUT, and he is in business first ball, the Philander experiment fails for South Africa, Jadeja catches him half forward with one that slides in with the angle, umpire Kettleborough raises the finger right away, and that looks plumb unless there was an inside edge, replays do not suggest any
VD Philander lbw b Jadeja 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

What was the point to sending Philander as opener ![]()

Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
vicotry by 108 runs in such low scoring game.. ////sa out for 108 in 2nd innings. Amla gone for zeroo.
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
SA got owned by Indian spinners. pathetic display with the bat in both innings
Re: 1st Test: India v South Africa at Mohali, Nov 5-9, 2015
Watched 1st two wickets and then got too nervous. Then saw score 35 for 4. Once superman AB devillers was gone, it was matter of time.
As the commentators said lots of wickets fell to deliveries that did not turn. The wicket had some perceived ghosts in the minds of batsmen from both sides.
Amla may have lost the plot when he didn't bring Tahir on in 3rd day morning for a while. Kohli and Pujara put on some key runs to bring total from 124 for 2 to 163 for 2. Before that unbelievable collapse.
Except for Dhawan who finally grew a pair, everyone contributed. Kohli may appear to not have contributed. But his 2nd inning of 29 was vital. Rahane got only 16 runs total. But his fielding was excellent. Especially slips cafchinv. Sir Jadeja came roaring back. Mishra dismissed superman AB twice. Varun Aaron took a surprise wicket at key time in 2nd inning. This was a team effort. Sahas 20 runs in 2nd inning provided the much needed cushion. And his keeping was class.
Rahul probably replaces Dhawan.
