Our team who was playing with one bowler who can only bowl explosively in short 4 overs bursts, one debutant, one absolutely useless moron of a bowler and one mystery ball bowler, still managed to put a decent fight.
with Asif and Gul back it will be somewhat a better contest. at least I hope so.

Malik deserves all the chappals he gets.
Yaar, give him some time. He is Captain since 2 Tours and he has been never appointed as Captain (so that one can say he has failed couple of time). Everything needs time and surely he is no exception. Warna woih haal ho ga jo humare openers ka hai.

Asim Kamal will be a lot better batsman in the middle order where Shoaib comes in.

I agree dont just have a go at Malik. He deserves time and if he still doesn't shine then we will order special large chittarz for him....The ones they use for interrogations in Jails back home.
I think Afridi would have made a good captain. You know why? Because he is aggressive, outspoken, he has powerful personality on and off the field, he talks upto the person like a proper man (like eye to eye) one cannot ignore if he is around you. When Compared to Malik he may go unnoticed even in a crowd. Last of all he may have just improved his stupid batting skills whilst being a captain.

I read in Jang, that Malik demanded for Asim Kamal for the midddle order, but the PCB selection committee rejected the call. Shoaib also demanded for Rao Iftikhar, which was also turned down.
By doing so PCB sent the best bowler of the world to India i.e. Mohammed Sami.
I would say that he was really unlucky, dravid decision would have given him some more strength, then on the other side, he should have opened the bowling with Shoaib, two really good pace bowlers at both ends would have made some impact on Indian batting line up.

Leaders are born. They are not given time to learn the basics of the trade (specially since he is not a bacha, he has been playing cricket for seven, eight years now). How much aqal does one need to set the fields tight when a new batsman comes in? His captaincy is defying logic, not to mention he doesn't even deserve a place in the test side.

I am glad we won. But it didn't feel like much of a win - too tame. None of the Indians were stretched....Sachin and Kumble had nothing to loose and playe without stress and the match was won. Why did we have the other 20 players.

Right. We stretched your chaddis well enough for 3 days. Congrats to you for winning the fourth day. It's the truth (I know you might not like it). If Gul is back for the second test to support Akhtar, I caution your "legendary" batting line-up to watch out.

Gul or nogul.......This Indian team is here to stay.......after a long time everybody in the team is firing all cylinders. To have a decent cricket contest pakis will have to look bowlers of wasim and waqar's class.
