Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
We all saw the How Asad batted against SL and yet Umar got sent home and not selected for tests in BD....I guess decision has been made that Asad needs to be given all the chance in the most batting friendly conditions on this planet (as if the chances against SL in UAE were not enough) so that he scores few runs and Umar can be kept out.
Mohsin Khan is trying to win back to Biryani Party Invites that he got threatened for, for dropping that keeper from last ODI. I have always hated this Karachi-Lahore camp issue and people (when they get into PCB) trying to keep people from their side of camp (Journalists, KCCA, Former players, TV reporters etc etc) as happy as possible.

For somebody claiming to hate the Karachi-Lahore rivalry thing, you seem to be upset exclusively at inclusion of Karachi players. What is your opinion of Sohail Tanveer playing in the team? How do you feel about Tanveer Ahmed getting kicked out of the team after his performance in tests?
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
Shail Tanveer: I never had high hopes from him…Never…Proof is given below
Sohail started playing Int cricket on 14th Sep 2007, this thread was created 3 days after that by Captaan asking So who is Sohail Tanvir?
http://www.paklinks.com/gs/cricketnama/264291-so-who-is-sohail-tanvir.html
and here was my reply to Captaan’s Qs…
Tanveer Ahmed I guess you have either not seen him huff and puff trying to run in and bowl after his 1st spell or even during his first spell in test matches and noticed how much his fitness is behind what is required from a cricketer, let alone a fast bowler…Or you are genetically programed to support names from certain parts of Pakistan regardless of their cricketing abilities or lack thereof…My best guess is that you are little bit of both.
Moral of the story: Next time you want to try to bring Karachi-Lahore into a discussion and try to throw random Karachi players name or punjabi players name, try to pick on some KK member whose understanding of game is around same level as yours.
Thanks
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
My understanding of cricket and opinion of players and coaches is based on performance not where they come from or some other childish immature reasoning, so yes I am at a different level than you.
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
Asad Shafiq is a good find but Umar Akmal is a far more talented batsman than Asad and deserves to be in the test (or any) team on merit.
This should be our top 6 in tests
Hafeez
Taufeeq
Azhar
Younis Khan
Misbah
Umar Akmal
Adnan (wk)
etc. etc.
(ps. Asad could always replace Misbah if and when he finally retires from cricket)

You have not replied to my opinion about Sohail Tanvir (which is same as 4 years ago) and Tanvir Ahmed, so I think I am more than clear on how you developed understanding of cricket and liking and disliking players....So no need to further explain yourself, OK?
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
BTW, Captain Ji…4 years ago you (Along with many KK legends)didnt seem to share the same opinion as mine about ST…How wrong was I? ![]()
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13

Abdur Rehman to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, caught at square leg would you believe it! With the ring of close catchers around him he manages to find square leg, gets down to sweep, he intended to slog I suppose but didn't get the elevation to clear Hafeez, easy catch
**Shakib Al Hasan c Mohammad Hafeez b Abdur Rehman 8 (20b 1x4 0x6) SR: 40.00 **

Saeed Ajmal to Nazimuddin, no run, Dropped Nazim gets forward to defend and gets a thin edge, **the ball clips Adnan’s gloves and drops just short of Younis at slip **
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
Bangladesh 83/7
This game might not even last 3 days!!
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
Wow - two neartypos back to back - Sehwag 219 and BD 83 for 7. Who would have thunk it.
Just who are the "fast track" or "spinning" track bullies?
Re: 1st Test: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Chittagong, Dec 9-13
Now its time to bring Cheema & Abdul Rehman ![]()
From cricinfo :cobra:
Mazher sends in a Wonder Stat: "Taufeeq Umar and Mohammad Hafeez, when open batting in this Test, they will become the first pair in history of Pakistan Cricket to open the batting in 11 consecutive Tests. They will leave behind pairs of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail in 1994-95, Ramiz Raja and Muddasir Nazar in 1987-88; both opened the innings in 10 consecutive Tests
