First semifinal is to be played on tuesday…

As Expected, aussies are just running away with the cup, Brett Lee and Mcgrath are in superb form with the ball, Hogg and Bichel are playing supporting roles pretty well. Thioer batters are in sublime form though thier top order is just a bit erratic with Hayden not in sublime form and Ponting has been seen in better form then this one. Can these aussies be matched in a crunch match?

Sri Lanka

A roller-coaster kind of form for Sri lanka. They were awesome in earlier matches, pathetic agasint kenya, lucky against South Africa and displayed throughly undeserving performance agsint Indians and the aussies. But anyhow they are here in the semifinals of this messed-up worldcup! Can they pull of a surprise against aussies?

I will say with almost 100% confidence level that India will be a finalist and may even be the championsip winner.

Unless Miththia Muralitharan comes with a spell that he is certainly capable of, Aussies will likely be the other finalists.

I agree we cannot take Kenya too lightly - they have earned respect haven't they? However I think we have sufficient depth to overcome their challenge.

That Port Elizabeth pitch is really, really slow. I wouldn’t be shocked if Lanka manages to screw Australia with spin like they did in that Champions trophy semi-final. :rotfl:

But obviously the Aussies are the likely winners here.

They way Aussies struggled in batting in last 3 matches I think SL has some chance in this wicket if its same slow wicket.
Remember what SL did to Aussies ICC trophy on that kinda wicket.

So I would say Its 70:30 in favour of Aus.

For some reason, I find India's place to be more secured for the final than that of Australia's. Common guys, SL won't be that easy. Specially seeing how the Aussies play spinners?.

Well Im sure Aussies will win against SL Aussies will have to work hard, it won't be a cakewalk, unlike India vs Kenya.

All it needs is one bad day, that is all.
It could be Sri Lanka's day and I wish it is. I'm fed up of seeing australia win win and win. I want to see their faces as the losing team and an all south asia final.

Sri Lanka is defintly capable of winning.They are a very good side on their day.Depends on the SL spinners .

Australia will have match practice on this wicket as they have played in here twice in WC so far, and this is a slow wicket but doesn't neccesarily mean its spinning wicket, it will still favor the medium pacers throughout the innings.

Only preditction by me in this world cup - Aussie are going to Whack Lankans like anything. No Lankan batsman is in form and they have only one bowler who can threaten this Aussie batting line up.

Well when they couldn't play Asif Karim, then I seriously doubt they would be able to overcome the magic of Murali. I predict it to be a close match. But sure Aussies have better odds!
