1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

I think Afridi should have tried to stay till the end.

This is what happens when have you tail-enders negotiating the last 3 overs

:aj:

Pak scored only 4 runs in last 3 overs so my advise to take power play was very right

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

and Pakistan did not finish their 50 overs .... I think Pakistan still fall short 20 runs ...but score is good ..and I hope Pakistan can field good too ..

No way Afridi would've stayed till the end. He only runs in fifth gear. Tailenders Ajmal and Asif could've supported Rana better. We left 10-15 runs on the table.

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

*274 is still a competitive total ...
infact its more than we were supposed to get
*

:D

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

how long is the inning break? Gotta go to bed ..but I just want to watch first 5 overs .. subah office :(

No I mean the little cameo Afridi played was the need of the hour but once he got us to a decent position he should have just tried to stay there right till the end and we might have got up to 290

And told you Rana's batting is over-rated. He struggled to put bat to ball let alone hit a decent shot

Pakistan always played well in first inning .... they are lucky to win the toss and in test matches it was their bad luck to lose all 3 tosses ............
If 2day Pakistan wins then their must some attraction for remaining matches ..... but now i think Afridi and younis can boost up the moral of team .......
But as i said first 15 overs are very important ........

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

A mature innings by afridi lifts our score to 275.....few short but v got good batting line up. get watson our early i hate him

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

Nice stat: Only twice before has a total of 270+ been chased down at the Gabba. Afridi's blitz at the end has given them a competitive total but Pakistan would feel they are atleast 20 runs short. Salman Butt set the platform at the start with some scintillating strokeplay but they lost their way in the middle, losing Umar Akmal and Younis Khan right when they were getting into their groove. Watson and Bollinger were the pick of the bowlers for the Aussies and Hauritz chipped in as usual, troubling the batsmen in the middle overs. Can Australia get to this total or will the Pakistani bowling attack prove to be too hot to handle?....

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

uff i can't wait for the match to start...its 1:27 am here i need to wake up early and go to class tom. i just want to see the first five overs before i go to sleep.

Office ko choro. This is going to be an exciting game.

You can take the class every day of the week, but this game will be on tonight only. Take your pick!

I've never seen Afridi last till the last over, so should be content with his 48 that got us to a decent score.
Rana is a decent ODI batsman in his own right.. not everyone can hit like Afridi.

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

its Pakistan game to lose

Re: 1st ODI Pakistan vs Australia @ Brisbane, Jan 22, 2010

Pakistan must take catches today, otherwise this game might run away from them.
