19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-rajioon

more frequent attacks in the last few months, just yesterday there was a bomb blast attack in Quetta which took 14 lives and dozens injured.

ever since, nato routes have been shut down, we are witnessing more frequent attacks in various parts of Pakistan and how did I forget drone attacks, one drone strike hits Pakistan tribal areas every four days.

PESHAWAR:** A bomb blast ripped through a bus on Friday, killing 19 people, including seven women and a child, on the outskirts of the northwestern city of Peshawar, police said.
**
More than 40 others were wounded in the attack on a bus rented by the government to take staff home after work in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It was the deadliest attack in months on Peshawar, which has long been a flashpoint for a local Taliban insurgency targeting government officials, security forces and ordinary civilians.

The city runs into the semi-autonomous tribal belt that US officials consider a safe haven for Al-Qaeda and insurgents fighting both in Pakistan and across the border in Afghanistan.

The explosion went off in the Daudzai area, killing government employees and other private passengers riding the same bus, officials said.
“The bomb was planted under the bus,” provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain told reporters.
“We still can’t say how many government employees and private passengers were killed, but there were heavy human losses,” he added.

Police official Tahir Ayub told AFP 19 people were killed and more than 40 wounded. Another police official, Shafiullah Khan, said seven women and a girl, aged seven, were among the dead.
The explosion destroyed the back end of the bus. Bloodied pieces of human flesh littered the seats, along with blood-stained clothes on the road lined with juniper trees, an AFP reporter said.

Muhammad Ullah, 48, a police official on the bus, said there was a deafening blast.
“The explosion triggered massive smoke inside the bus but even then we could feel soft and bloody pieces of human flesh hitting our bodies,” Ullah told AFP while being treated for head and shoulder injuries.
Arsalan, a junior clerk in the provincial auditor general’s office, said he remembered asking the driver to stop at a mosque on the road for main Friday prayers then the explosion took place.

“I don’t remember what happened next because I fainted and came round in a hospital bed,” the 28-year-old, also with head and neck injuries, told AFP.
The attack came one day after a remote-controlled bomb killed at least 15 people outside a madrassa in Pakistan’s southwestern city of Quetta.
The country of 180 million sits on the frontline of the US-led war on al Qaeda and since July 2007 has been gripped by a local Taliban-led insurgency, concentrated largely in the northwest.
In the last five years, attacks blamed on militant bombers have killed more than 5,000 people according to an AFP tally.

Pakistan’s relations with the United States are in disarray and for the last six months, since US air strikes killed 24 Pakistani soldiers along the border, it has imposed a blockade on Nato supplies crossing overland into Afghanistan.
On Thursday, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned Pakistan that the United States was running out of patience over Islamabad’s refusal to do more to eliminate safe havens for insurgents who attack US troops fighting a 10-year war against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Panetta made the strong remarks after talks with Afghan Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak on the latest leg of an Asian tour that took him to Pakistan’s arch-rival India, but not Islamabad in a sign of dire US-Pakistan relations.
He singled out the Haqqani network, a Taliban and al Qaeda-linked faction that has bases in Pakistan’s tribal district of North Waziristan and which has been blamed for some of the deadliest attacks of the 10-year war in Afghanistan.

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Violance

lawlessness
all tricks to keep the attention away from looting.
after violance comes owain owain he is doing it every one is doing it owain drama.

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Who actually gains in all this? Who do you guys think are responsible for these crimes? Please don't just say enemies of Pakistan and those trying to cause trouble, but actual groups who may be reponsible.

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

No answer to my question?

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

u really don't expect a serious answer do u????

look around GS and put the situation in Pakistan into perspective ...... then ask urself the question u put forward here

My take on this: U reap what u sow ..... When u listen to lunatic Mullahs and let them dictate the fate of ur future then this is what comes out ..... Bhutto started listening to them and then Zia put the icing on the cake ..... We can lay the blame on yahoo-o-hanood as often as we like but the matter of the fact is it's a home grown problem which can only be solved by ourselves ..... What began as jihad against the sovjets is now a big business with many stake holders from various quarters ...... Drug smugling, weapon smugling, murder for money, hijacking for ransom, black market for luxury items or in the name of religion, political weight pulling tight with socalled islamic ideas ..... every gamma, maja has become a maulana added by gang equiped with guns and political or para military backing ..... Pakistan Army has it fair share of islamic hard liners in it's rows ...... Mehran Base Attack highlighted it quite well

i could go on and on ..... i think by now not even ISI or CIA for that matter knows exactly what size/shape this monster has taken ..... however i could be wrong

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

So is it right to say that the militants Pakistan encouraged and trained to wage war against India are now waging war against Pakistan. Just how the US trained Mujahadeen in Afghanistan turned againt the Americans.

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

I don't know much about the Kashmir dispute nor do i speak for any Party involved ..... but it's not like Kashmiris were given halva-poori in indian police custody (Manmohan Singh admission is on record about this) ..... as i wrote in my above post ..... u reap what u sow ..... be it India or Pakistan or any group ..... u sow injustice u reap hatred ..... u sow oppression u reap voilence ..... it's the sheer height of stupidity of two nation with so much in common that 60 years on they hate each other like none

Pakistan is reaping its fruits ..... do u really think India will not reaps it for the injustice ???? ..... If one distorts history nothing will happen to it but ultimately this will distort u

Look around the world (not just indo-pak) ..... this very lesson is there to see for those who reflect

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

With all due respect zero one I am not sure what your point about India and Kashmir has to do with this thread, yes Indian authorities do commit human rights abuses and that is abhorrent but how does that explain who is behind these bombings?

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

well if u look closely then u may realise that u brought in India into thread not me ..... i just extend ur analogy ("militants pakistan trained to wage war against India" ur quote .... should someone else say "Police and Military Personal India trained to abuse, torture and kill kashmiris" ????) ..... it wasn't in no way a try to explain these bombings ..... i tried to explain it a post earlier at lenght (post #8 in this thread) ....and while at it if u read carefully that mentioned post of mine u won't find India/Kashmir in it!

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Ok fair enough, Pakistan does have many home grown problems I hope there are home grown answers.

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

believe me there are tens of millions of PPL in Pakistan waiting for this very answer ..... i hope PPL realize that such answer start not on a politicalor national level but rather on a person to person level ..... it's a long process but at some stage it has to start otherwise this downward spiral will only accerelate

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Who cares... we are bussy saving our skins
...RPP+Memogate+familygate+ mediagate + nato supply+waghaira +waghaira
19 only we'll sacrifice 1900 more to save us.. ehem..democracy

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

exactly, we will be forever stuck into these scandals, one after another and important issues will be as always sidetracked!

Re: 19 killed, 20 injured in Peshawar blast

Can we ignore the fact that in the last few months terrorist attacks in Pakistan have grown many fold? How long will people suffer this fate at the hands of these ruthless terrorists? Is It not time to let bygones be bygones, and work together once again to defeat these terrorists who seem to have regrouped in the last few months. Should we not re-group as well and go full force against them? Unless we stand united and go after these terrorists, innocent people will keep losing their lives in these vicious attacks. Time has come to neutralize these terrorists once and for all so peace can return to the region. We stand by Pakistan in this difficult time, and hope to see both of our nations working side by side in the near future. Our condolences go out to the families of the innocent people targeted and killed in these attacks. We hope to see the culprits caught and punished to the fullest extent of law.

^ step up drone attacks to rid us from terrorism, and if it doesn't solve the problem send your ground forces there to solve the problem. The biggest problem in the region are flawed American policies.
