These statistics don't matter... even you say these many million humans are muslims, how many of them are actuallly practicing muslims? same goes for Hindus and Christians..

Islam is the religion of nature… The basic principle of Islam which is devotion to One Almighty Perfect Creator God rather than many created false gods is part of every humans innate nature.
Those people that have these basic beliefs but have not been introduced to the teachings of Islam are known as Hunafah in our religion… Before divine revelation Prophet Abraham :as: followed this path, so did Prophet Muhammed :saw: and many of his disciples before he introduced Islam to them… Many monks and priests who talked of the Prophet’s :saw: prophethood to his uncle (on a journey to Syria when our Prophet :saw: was still a child) and his wifes Christian Monk cousin who confirmed to the Prophet :saw: that it was indeed Angel Gabriel that he had met were all from the Hunafah..
It is possible that “Hunafah” (‘upright’; devotees of the true God) who follow their conscience rather than emotion exist in all communities around the world be they Jewish, Christain, Native American etc. but they have not yet been introduced to the complete teachings of Islam, the sign of true Hunfah is that they don’t find any of the teachings of Islam objectionable.

The forefather religion of Hinduism; Pure Vedantism was brought to South-Asia by invaders and conquerors who imposed it on the locals but assimilated local gods such as Shiva and Krishna to form presentday Hinduism.
Sikhism and Buddhism developed because their leaders were disillusioned with orthodox Hinduism and they reject the authority of the Vedas… Hindus will worship anyone so they worship Guru Nanak and Siddharth Gautama but the followers of these people reject this practice… There is a movement in India to Hinduise these religion but the followers of these religions don’t want this, a Sikh I know was complaining about a picture he saw of a cow with the Gurus on it because the cow is not sacred in Sikhi, he said it was a Hindu conspiracy like many other things in India to assimilate them into Hinduism, he also said if Hindus respected Sikhs as fellow Hindus would they attack Harminder Sahib and destroy the Akal Takht?
You guys say you don’t proselytize because you respect all religions, that might be true in some instances because Hindus themselves don’t know what their religion is but I believe the main reason is Hindus consider every outsider/foreigner to be filthy and not worthy of conversion, in fact foreigners/low-castes don’t even have the right to study your scriptures and if they do there is a severe punishment (want quotes/reference?)..
Outsiders are not even worthy of being allowed to enter your Temples (not that I’d want to), if it was a main pilgrimage site then I can understand as its not holiday destination and those that don’t understand its value shouldn’t be allowed but even in regular temples such as in Karachi/Pak they don’t allow Muslims in, recently in India a White guy went into a Mandir and thousands and thousands of rupees worth Prasad food that had been prepared went in the garbage whilst millions starve to death in India because he was a filthy foreigner and polluted the temple, they had to purify everything.. When Mushy went to India, I remember the fundamentalist Hindus “purified” the Taj Mahal with urine because he was considered a filthy foreigner/Muslim… We hear of this sort Muslim-phobic attitude from our elders about the Hindus who lived in our villages before partition. I once remember reading about a Hindu singer who was ostracised from his community because a Muslim king offered him a paan and he accepted so he had been impurified by his contact with a Muslim…
So the main reason you don’t proselytise is because you consider outsiders filthy and not worthy of your religion, not that nay of us would want to convert… Religions like Islaam welcome everyone with open arms and our Prophet :saw: had white Caucasian Romans, African black Ethiopians, Persians, Hebrews, Arabs etc. as his disciples.
As for conquering lands outside South-Asia, I don’t think they had the balls to do that but many devote Hindus did slaughter and spill blood in South-Asia (Ashoka before he rejected Hinduism, Raja-Raja etc.)…
Look at their culture language & beliefs, so common to India/Hinduism.
Culture (languages/dress/cusine/architecture) is more to do with Ethnicity and less with Deen/Dharam (religion/belief/ideology).
Sanskrit can exist independent of Hinduism... I know every religion has a liturgical language but I can pray dua (or pratna/ardas) to Allaah in Sanskrit and a Christian can say grace in Arabic..

worship of krishna as a God started of approximately 2000 years ago. It is a puranic concept. It is more of a recent phenomenon. That's what i believe.

I think we should accept the fact-- Mohammad's Islam-- "the religion of peace" started in 7th century for higly uncivilized Arabs- has grown at a very fast rate --- no doubt about it.
And of course Umma has every right to feel proud of this achievement.
But one should note that spread of Islam-- particularly in Indian subcontinent and Persia was more because of persecution under Mughal and Umar's barbaric rule.
World's most biased law of Sharia was practiced under their rule, which practically made the people to be left with no choice than to accept Islam and live.
Also, people converted (particularly lower castes) because of those Upper Caste morons who mis-interpreted Manusmriti and invented the Caste system for a few peoples benefit....this actually harmed Dharma and those who believed in this...since majority of people during that time were not aware of Vedas and Upanishads---it's true interpretation.
