The point is that it doesnt matter what their intentions were, the media has already judged them as terrorists and in a country where "innocent until proven guilty" is a motto they flaunt, its extremely hippocritical. And what pisses me off is all these so called "experts" are coming out from the caves they live in and talking about us as a "jihad generation", talk about demeaning. When will we stop judging a religion by a single persons action. The great boxer Mohammed Ali was asked when he visited the site of the WTC after 9,11, "how do you feel that people of your faith killed 3000 people", he replied with grace "how do you feel when a person of your faith killed over 21 million people (referring to Hitler and all the people who died in WW2). The reporter was left speechless.

as for evindence...what would they do with ammonium nitrate and detonators?

Unfortunately the acts of these 17 people are going to make it impossible for the rest of us to get a fair shake. And even though the allegedly "intended" crime did not occur, the Muslim community in Canada and particularly in Toronto will suffer the same consequences as if it had.

my aunt (whose son in law is the lawyer for one of the accused) was telling us that the ammonia nitrate (fertilizer) was purchased for their mosque in mississauga ..the one at eglingtion and mavis...i dont know remember exactly what she said...but she seemed very sure that they were all innocent....only god knows....

I respect that we do not know the truth....but quite frankly, I don't believe the claim that the fertilizer was purchased for legitimate use.
I know of the mosque that you are speaking and Ibrahim has attended Juma there on numerous occassions. We drive by that particular mosque at least three times per/week if not more.
Firstly, I don't see any type of grounds maintenance going on there that would require fertilizer. If anything, they would need to get weed-killer and perhaps a john deer type of mower that would allow them to cut the over-grown grass and weeds down. Furthermore, the vast majority of the land that this mosque sits upon is covered in gravel to allow for parking......there really isn't any reason why such a substance would need to be purchased.
Secondly, Ibrahim has mentioned to me on more than one occassion that the khutbas at that mosque incite anger and violence rather than promote peace and tolerance. He has often said that he has wanted to speak to the management there and ask them what they hope to accomplish by concentrating on such issues.

They are builing a new masjid by my house. All the windows were smashed in and some of them looked like they had bullet holes in them. Absolutely terrible. I know the maulvi who is building that masjid. He taught me and a lot of other kids how to read the Quran. It’s been his life long dream to build a masjid and now that he’s finally doing it, it’s been vandalized. :disgust:

It's by Trinity Commons. It could have been totally unrelated to the terrorist arrests, but I drive by it regularly and always look at the building to see how much it has been developed. We all noticed the windows yesterday. :(

Its common practice now, ever since 9/11 the western media has used the events to malign Islam rather than the people who allegedly carried out the events. This is what the Canadian media is doing as well, the mosque incident is just an example how the media is working so hard to create harmony.
But the same media will never blame the whole US Army (an Army of One) for massacres like Haditha, or they would not blame the whole jewish community in southern US for burning the churches.
But the saddest part is that there are Muslims who, in incident like this, start blaming Islam, as if its the religion which caused the mishap. Another thing which is obvious in their reaction and remarks is the utter ignorance about the vlaues and norms of justice, a sign of civility I presume.

I dont understand why we want to make excuses, yeah give person benefit of doubt, but only as much as is reasonable. I mean what is next some jackass is found with a suitcase dirty bomb and some will still defend him by saying that maybe he just wanted a real permanent cure for the rodent problem in his basement?

After the arrests on Saturday, someone I know made the comment that in the coming years, Muslims will most likely have to uproot themselves and move to Muslim countries because things will become really bad for Muslims.
It made me think about the Day of Judgement. One of the signs is that the world will become an increasingly difficult place for Muslims to live in as they will be persecuted. It does look like we're heading in that direction.

those "innocent unitl proven guilty" people may have been said guilty by all white christians, moderate muslims believe them just to save their a$$
