Re: 17 Pakistan Troops killed in an ambush in Wazirasatan
I am worried about their fate in Allah's court as they belong to an organisation that has bombed mosques and killed innocent women and children in mosques. I feel sorry for the families of dead soldiers but again..their families should edcuate them not to attack mosques
If there were women and children in that madrassa, were they there willingly, or it was government that asked them to be there? When they knew that Madrassa was breaking the law of the country and was challenging the state with violence, they should have left that place, don’t you think so? Unfortunately, instead of leaving the madrassa, they decided to become criminal themselves, by break the law of the country and became tool of fitna that was spreading from that madrasa. In such situation, what do you expect government should have done? Send those women and children ladoo and Jelabi? :).
Is it not true that government kept asking them to abandon the madrass? Even after siege, government waited 6 days so that they come out. Taking advantage, even leader of the fitna, Abdul Aziz came out in disguise, so what stopped them from coming out? To me, government giving so much concession to those criminals was too much, and I think that government should not have waited that long before action. Waiting that long brought lot of insecurity and safety fear amongst most law abiding Pakistanis.
Bitter_reality Saheb :) This is bitter reality of life that when a group starts challenging the state with arms (it is called rebellion against the state), and start playing with laws of the land, State gives them appropriate response with full force (execute all rebels without mercy). Challenging the state means not political struggle or crime within the country, but challenging the state in proper meaning, as Madrasa people were doing, Taliban in FATA are doing, or Bugti was doing (breaking law, challenging the writ of the government openly, and taking arms against the state forces). When this happens, in Islamic terms, it is called Fitna.
Strong and brutal action of the state against such rebellions is not cruelty but necessity, because if state does not act brutally against them, writ of the state becomes joke. In such state, every criminal and rebel starts using arms against the state, and every protester and dissenter start playing with law of the land. If that happens than people (citizen of that state) start thinking that state is weak and thus they become insecure and unsafe in such country. To protect them in their day to day life, they start looking for some other stronger entity that can give them that security and safety.
Motto is that: If state is weak then others have right to revolt and occupy that state, giving the state a better and stronger government.
Well, I completely believe on democracy and I won’t mind if one part of Pakistan is not happy with Pakistan and would like to have independence, and would like to live outside the realm of Pakistan. But then, they should achieve that peacefully. That means, they should discuss, convince others, show reasons (so that if there is any genuine grievances, one can try to sort that out), and if there is no solution, as long as 70 to 80 percent of them wants separation (where each and every person living there to be taken as equal, free and independent), I believe that it is best to give them that separation. To me, it is better to live in peace with people who do not want to live together and want separation, rather than keep those unwilling people within state by force.
But as long as they are part of Pakistan, they have to respect rights of all citizens, and stay within law. They have to accept the writ of the state (that is same for all citizens). It is duty of the state and necessary for safety, security, and integrity of the state and for all citizens of the state. All citizens are equal and should be equal in the eyes of state, be they prostitute or Mullah. Citizens should not rebel against state or impose their morality, values, or religious beliefs on other citizens using force, as they should know that are all equal and would be treated equal (whoever they may be). If one wants to change others in any way, they should do that by preaching diligently and convincing others. But, if they challenge the state writ, it becomes duty of state to crush their rebellion brutally and forcefully.
If is unfortunate that Pakistan is not a weak state, it has over a million armed forces (Standing, Reserves and Para-military), still it shows lot of restraint when dealing with armed challenge to the state and rebellious actions. Just imagine that there was challenge to the state from Madrasa Hafsa and it went on for 6 months, tormenting others citizens living around there, others that had same rights what people of Madrasa had, still state did not do anything and it went on without state acting against them. Even today, there are several rebellions in tribal area by Taliban, and state is tolerating them. If I was ruling the country, I would not even hesitate to bomb those talibans and crush their rebellion using maximum force.
