US drone strikes in Pakistan have killed more civilians than previously reported, including 168 children, according to figures compiled by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
Now a detailed study by the London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) has been published containing new figures on civilian casualties.
Its findings suggest the number of ordinary people killed could be 40 per cent higher than previously reported and that as many as 168 children have died since the strikes began.
Chris Woods, who led the study, said:** “The CIA’s insistence that it is not killing civilians in Pakistan is at odds with the reported evidence.”**
The Bureau of Investigative Journalism’s key findings
• Since 2004 a minimum of 291 drone strikes have been launched by the US - almost 10 per cent more attacks than previously understood.
• A minimum of 2,292 people have been killed in the attacks - 40 per cent more than generally reported. The number may be as high as 2,863.
• The bureau has identified 126 named militants killed.
• At least 385 civilians have been killed, with a possible upper figure of 775.**
• Some 168 children have reportedly been killed in the drone strikes - 56 of them during President Obama’s first 20 months in office.**
• Under Bush you had 43 drone attacks, under Obama you have 171 drone attacks.
so america with its drone attacks almost killed 3000 people around 130 are militants rest are civilians Obama and America must be proud and they got the nerve to call others the terrorists what bloodthirsty hypocrites.

I pray it is not more, but i agree with you unofficially there are more crimes against the people committed by obama and his drone war against people of pakistan.
We had to go to wikileaks to find out the real number of people killed in iraq and it was much bigger than official numbers given by pentagon so you know you cannot trust the american government at all when they say something!

Iam indian and even i pray that the number isn't high. But i suspect the number must be higher than reported. I live in america and americans don't think they are killing anybody. For them these deaths are just casualties of war and nothing else.

Talk about selective criticsm... How many children have died or been killed INTENTIONALY by Taliban? Javed in PARIS doesnt care who is killing children, so long its not the Kafirooon... Although he happily lives among them.

he is a champion of double standards and hyppocracy and a sort of the european jehadi of his own kind , he will never discuss how many children died in bombay 26/11 and u.s. 9/11 london bomb blasts in tube railway .what he forgets some muslims too died in these attacks. god forbid if something happens in paris and if he or his family by chance goes through such ordeal will he open the thread in the same manner? i have never seen him saying a single word against savage animal killers who claim to be jehadi.

this is valid point, we can blame the American military because they control the drones that kill our people.
we can also blame the pak army for letting it happen and just watching doing nothing about it!

yes unfortunately some innocent lives are lost, but most of your so called** "our people"** are talibani terrorists , to save lakhs of innocent lives and humanity you have to finishoff such criminals from the surface of earth.
what can pak army do in this situation ,taliban were close ally of I.S.I. and pak army in afghanistan, now they are encroaching upon and killing pakistan's own population , if any body wants any country's army to compromise their power and souvergnity to some terrorists army what should they do? surrender because they are coreligionists? no country can let any terror group to use it's land. if any country has some treaty with another freindly country then only other armed forces come for mutual cooperation like pak has treaty with china.

Unfortunately our so called liberals have the same approach because they & their families are not under these attacks.
