15th February: Dallas anti-war rally

The family got to the protest starting point around 1:00p.m. There were a lot of people. We walked a mile to the John F. Kennedy memorial. Many local speakers came of which the first one to start was the imam of the Dallas Central mosque, Imam Kavachi.

A local band played in between the speeches. There was also a state representative. He implored people to write to their representatives, senators and other local elected officials and to keep the upcoming elections in mind. Our votes will speak if we are against what’s happening now in Iraq and other places.

As we get to the march, we see the marchers about 1.5 blocks away:
