Fata was never really under Pakistan’s control and the borders are porous like we know. Some villages on the border areas have houses on both sides of the border. The way US attacked Afghanistan they didn’t even give time for countries of the region to prepare.

Kayani should take the blame, when Musharraf was leading the country and the army then?

I am talking about Obama time when musharraf clearly wasn’t leading anything unless he has “bhai” influence.

I have criticized Musharraf like his statement that he didn’t move army to FATA to plug the border because the americans didn’t coordinate with him. For me, this is a leadership issue that a person should be able to forsee what could happen if fleeing taliban would take refuge in Pakistan.
