Younis was joined by Faisal Iqbal and together they added 147 runs for the sixth wicket.
Younis scored his century off 126 balls in 163 minutes and hit nine fours and three sixes in the process. He had time to offer prayer to Mecca before carrying on and ending with what seems certain to be a man of the match performance for his side to be 336/5 at the declaration.
Faisal had his reward for a supporting innings when reaching his maiden Test half century off 146 balls in 158 minutes and including five fours.
