14 August celebration meal...

Hello,

I was thinking of cooking a small 14th August meal and inviting some friends around…thought I’d make a fuss this year as we never do.

I was thinking of theming the menu ‘green’ so here are my ideas so far:

green chicken biryani
seekh kebabs with green chutney
a handi…possibly a kofta dish…
green salad :halo:
pistacio (sorry can’t spell today) kheer
green falooda…

I’m thinking that sounds cool. Anyone else doing anything anything for 14th August? I might decorate the house too.

Lastly, I don’t suppose theres any Brummies on here who can tell me if there are any celebrations for 14th August in Birmingham is there we could attend?

There's a dish called chicken-hara masala...I don't know how to make it but I have eaten it..tastes good. If you like you can check it out.

Try this. Melt white chocolate and add green food colour to it. Now put it on nutty cake sponge. U can make it more symbolic by making white-green combination. Tastes great as well.

coughs I was thinking of a nice cake for the 15th of August. A celebration cake…

I also wanted to try to make some shami kebab. What goes well with those? Roti? Chawal?

Or should I try biryani again :bummer: my last one was disastrous though…
