BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A militant Iraqi group said it had killed 12 Nepali hostages and showed pictures of one being beheaded and others being gunned down in the worst violence against captives since a wave of kidnappings erupted in April.
The announcement of the killings, made in a statement posted on an Islamist Web site Tuesday, came as France intensified its efforts to save two French reporters held hostage in Iraq by a separate militant Islamic group.
The Nepalis were kidnapped earlier this month when they entered Iraq to work as cooks and cleaners for a Jordanian firm. The killing of men from a tiny country that had nothing to do with the invasion or occupation of Iraq will send shockwaves through foreign companies doing business here.
“We have carried out the sentence of God against 12 Nepalis who came from their country to fight the Muslims and to serve the Jews and the Christians…believing in Buddha as their God,” said the statement by the military committee of the Army of Ansar al-Sunna.
The group posted a series of photographs showing the killing as well as a video.
The recording showed two masked men, one in camouflage, holding down a hostage. One of the men then used a knife to behead the hostage and then hold his head aloft.
The video then showed a group of hostages lying face down and being shot by a man using an automatic rifle. It then showed bodies splattered with blood and bullet wounds.
i simply dont know how to react.....i am feeling disgusting.....who are these people who feel no disgust in cutting people's heads......and top of that they r killing innocent people...are they really muslims or for that matter are they really human beings....i m just confused......what did they achieve by killing poor nepalis.....what are they achieving by extending their war against every nation.....
KATHMANDU: Thousands of protesters ransacked a mosque and clashed with police in the Nepalese capital on Wednesday to protest the killing of 12 Nepalese hostages by Iraqi militants.
“We want revenge,” demonstrators shouted as they stormed the Jama Mosque - the only Muslim house of worship in Katmandu. They broke windows and set fire to carpets, furniture and parts of the building, which was empty at the time.
how about Qatar and Saudi airline offices? why leave them out?
Mob is a mob they don't care who is in their way, anything that slightly resembles or sounds like a Muslim is/was a target.... these people were angry and it was an angry reaction, not justifiable but that what it was.
More the reason for Muslims to make their voices heard and make clear to the world that these barbarians have nothing to do with Islam they are defaming and using Islam for their own disgruntled motives.

Every country reacts differently to terrorist attacks. Just look at the difference between Nepal and America's reaction to terrorist attacks.
I really hope the terrorists don't kill any Chinese.

china and japan have more homogenous populaton and bhudhist
and local culture and religens dont have conflicts. you can go to shinto shrine and bhudist temple.
These guys were what, truck drivers? If these guys had been driving trucks to deliver goods to Iraqi's while under sanctions they would have been heros. They would have been providing food, medicine, gasoline. Since the country is "occupied", and has a "puppet government", these same people are expendible like flies. Seems to me that the Iraqi people still need food medicine and gasoline.
The definition of who is helping the "occupation" forces is part of the problem here, and without foreign aid workers, engineers, and of course international money, the entire state of Iraq will fail. For those of you who think that iraq is a "rich" country, remember a couple of things. Even the Saudi's have to go to Western firms and banks to expand their oil fields. The Iraqi's still owe foreign countries over 100 billion dollars borrowed under Saddam. It will take nearly 15 Billion to rework oil fields, to get the "wealth" out of the ground. Iraq is only a "wealthy" country if it is secure, stable and reliable. So what is really in the best interest of Iraqi's? That is how Muslims should make thier decisions. The brutal salughter of 12 Nepalis does nothing to advance the Iraqi people.

yeah terrorists should confine themselves to killing Americans and Israelis only(I think that was the tactical understanding between terrorists and their peers that terrorists are viloating now).....first americans don't make mobs to kill and secondly even if they do, they will kill sikhs or blacks instead anyway.
How the Iraqis think they may further their cause is beyond comprehension. They really need to put a stop to this ... you'd rather lose a battle than win it with the blood of innocents.
Nepalese are taking it really hard, and the violence against Muslim will increase. If you guys remember back in 2001 in an ugly incident in which two people were killed in a demonstration to burn Hrithik's posters due to his alleged utterances against Nepal. It was a big deal for them at that time. If they can take an actor remarks that seriously than imagine how serious the current situation is going to be. Nepal is a fairly small country unlike Pakistan or India. There is not a whole lot goes on there every day, so incident of this magnitude is really serious stuff for them

actually the whole of south asia has a jazbati sort of population
we react at things much more than it is required
look at the babri mosque incident hindus played the extremist role there
then take the example of that Nepaleese Prince who killed the whole royal family just because of the girl he wanted to marry
and even we dont let the chance of violence pass after a defeat in a cricket match

Was this your passage for the day? Who are you talking to in this thread? As far as I know everyone here has condemned this as a barbaric act and I condemn it too outright. What then is the point of saying oh if this was during the sanctions they would have been hailed as heroes..??
