cumin/jeera
clove/laung
black pepper/kali mirch
cinnamon stick/daal chinni
coriander seeds/ dania
fennel/ saunf
green cardamom/ choti ilachi
black cardamom/ bari ilachi
anise seed/ ??
bay leaves/ ??
nutmeg / ???
????

it can't be saffron its expensive and i don't think its used in masala, nahin ?

KKF, are you sure that 12 masala and garam masala are the same thing?

I've heard of Baara Masaalay kee chaat, but is it a regular chaat with garam masala sprinkle on it? ALso, I dont think that garam masala has haldi

Muqawee, I started a smilar thread about Solaa Singhaar once. I dont think that we ever figured them out. Maybe now with you and KKF in the forum, you can start a thread on that.
