Re: 12 imam concept of shias

since you are ready to read the long articles on the anti-shia site posted by sculptor_999 vbmenu_register(“postmenu_3665772”, true); now, why dont you click on the links to shia-sites i have posted above. My answer would not be any different whats writen on those sites.

Please refrain from posting links and suggesting that others go read. Instead, either post part of the material and post the link that would be directly leading to the desired page, or post the exact URLs for the desired material.

Re: 12 imam concept of shias

Islam doesn't say anything about 12 imams or anyone for that matter after Mohammad's (saww) death. Don't forget, Islam was all done after Mohammad's (saww) death and that is where people started dividing in groups. The matter of 12 imams is a shia belief.

As for the 12th imam. Shias believe that he was Imam Mehdi who has appeared before (if im not wrong) and he will appeare again on the day of judgement when dajal will appeare. Although sunnis believe Imam Mehdi will only appeare on kayamat.

About making something halal haram, that could be a misunderstanding. Even Mohammad (saww) didn't do that then how could the imams? Allah is the only one to decide what is halal upon us and what is haram.

Zer01:
Would it be possible for you to name the 11 imams if you don't mind?

Re: 12 imam concept of shias

As I said before, most of the sunnis only know what they are told, they dont really know whats written in thier Hadith and Fiqhi books. The above statement is another perfect example of that.

Wrong again, Islam was completed way before the death of Prophet (s) Mohammed, as he was on his way to madina after his last Hajj. And nothing can be added or deducted to/from Islam after that.

Again wrong, There are a lot of traditions in sunni books quoting Prophet Mohammed (s) that there will be 12 Caliphs/Imam after his death and they all will be from Quresh. So if its only a shia beliefe then from where these traditions came from and who are these 12 caliphs Prophet (s) foretold before his death?

After the completion of religion no one has authority to make any thing Halal or Haram. Even if it is an imam from the progeny of Prophet Mohammed (s). Let me quote here a tradition from hadith books and a verse from Quran:

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (s) said: **“I did not make anything Halaal except what Allah made Halaal, and I did not make anything Haraam except what Allah made Haraam.” **
Sunni reference: Tabaqat, by Ibn Sa’d, v4, p72

And in Quran Allah (swt) says:

It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path.

(Al-Ahzab 33:36)

And most certainly, no Imam or “Caliph” has authority to make any thing Haram or Halal. They are not Above the words of Allah and can not change the matters, which have been decided by Allah and his Prophet (s).
