So far 3 weddings are happening on the lawns in front of my workplace. They think it’s a lucky date. And it’s our work xmas party today

Astrologists and conspiracy mongers have added another ominous date to the list of foreseen doom — December 12.
December 12, 2012, or 12/12/12, is the last date for the next 88 years when every number will be the same. At 12:12 a.m. and p.m. there will be five repeats of the number, six if you care to watch the clock tick until it reaches 12 seconds.
It’s also a special day for thousands of kids celebrating their twelfth birthday on Wednesday, including one who says he was born at 12:12 p.m.
Predictions abound for the day, and at least one astrologer in Australia is predicting a Y2K-style internet and computer breakdown, according to News.com.au.
“On 12.12.12 the world is feeling the impact of a stressful pattern between Mercury and Neptune, the planet that rules leaks (like Wikileaks) and also flooded computer networks,” she is quoted as saying.
But wait, other sky-readers are saying the exact opposite.
In fact, thousands of couples around the world have booked their wedding dates in the middle of the week just to get hitched on a the once in a lifetime date, according to several wedding planning agencies.
A numerologist told Yahoo! Shine that couples who marry on that date will have “a high level of spiritual awareness.”
“It also brings sensitivity and romance to the marriage, but there is a danger of one or both parties taking everything too personally,” she said.
A couple in Brampton, Ont. booked their wedding day for tomorrow and added decorations to emphasize the number 12, including 12 coconuts on the thank you cards and 12 starfish on the wedding cake, according to the Canadian Press.
The Times of India reports that mothers are lining up to have Cesarean Sections or induce labour on Dec. 12.
A collaboration of filmmakers, entitled One Day on Earth, will have participants filming simultaneously worldwide over the course of the day. The organizers plan to broadcast the footage online and combine it to into a feature film.
Paul McCartney will also perform at a benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts scheduled for the rare date.
The Astronomical Society of the Pacific has declared the Dec. 12 “Anti-Doomsday Day,” and posted a slogan to its website that says “take back the calendar!”
“We are declaring December 12, 2012 as Anti-Doomsday Day in celebration of rational thinking and reasoned discourse,” the organization posted on its website.
Though the society did point out other neat facts about the number to which we’ve attributed so much significance this year.
“Mars is 12 light minutes from the Sun, the average temperature of the Earth is 12 degrees Celsius, and Jupiter takes 12 years to orbit the Sun,” it wrote

Technically if something were to take place on 12/12/12 it would have happened a few years ago. The Gregorian calendar is all screwy.
