111 brigade is under X-Corps of Pakistan Army. This brigade control Rawalpindi area of country.

Why is every PM afraid of 111 brigade?

What is its significant in Pakistani Politics?

Well, being close to Islamabad, this is the brigade that army chief always moved to takeover Islamabad and declare Martial law.

111th Infantry Bridage most commonly known as Triple-1 Brigade is one of the elite forces of Pak Army. It is composed of regiments from several branches of Army e.g, artillery, armoured, paratrooper, air defence. There are also two companies of SSG Commandos. It is ofcourse commanded by a Brigadier of the Pak Army currently lead by Brigadier Sarfraz Ali.

Headquartered in X Corps of Rawalpindi, its peactime roles are basically defence of military installations. Because its a quick response force, it is the defacto force used to provide protection of civilian buildings as well when called upon. The PM house, presiden house, parliament etc are often provided securirty by this force. It is because of this reason that high command of Army relies on Tripple-1 brigade to topple the civilian govts. Over the years, it has been used by Gen Ayub Khan, Gen Zia Ul Haq and Gen Musharraf to bring coup (It remains to be seen if Gen Raheel will use it for this purpose as well).

Gen Asim Bajwa who is currently DG ISPR was the commander of this force during the famed topple of Nawaz Sharif govt. in 1999.

I was talking about constitution of Pakistan. If PM can only disband his own naara, instead of taking bold decisions, laanat hay aisay PM par, is say behtar to woh chapraasi hay jo paisay le kar barhay barhay logon ko sahib se milwata hay hain ji :faizy:
