LONDON: Eleven out of 12 suspects arrested in a major anti-terror operation in Britain are Pakistani nationals, the head of Greater Manchester Police said Thursday.

"We’ve been very clear about the origin of the people that have been arrested.

11 of them are Pakistani nationals. That is a matter of fact," said Peter Fahy, briefing reporters on the raids across northwest England Wednesday.

Do a quick judicial review and if proven hang them high, preferably at the “eye”.

No need to keep them locked up like in Gitmo. Just get rid of them.

:sigh:

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

and people wonder why british people hate pakistanis so much

you forget one thing - at this moment in time they are "supects". you all talk as if they have been proven guilty.

what are the chances that most if not all will be released without charge as is the usual case.

the british dislike pakistanis simply because of the contsant media attention, part of which we generate ourselves, part of which its islamaphobic.

if they are proven innocent then the media will forget about it as usual. i hope they are innocent because a lot of pakistani students end up working in security jobs and the last thing they need is that industry tightening the screws on them.

it is amazing how many educated, i assume they are, pakistanis are quick to consider them guilty.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

^^ thats because so many British Pakistanis have been caught doing terrorist stuff

From the 7/7 bombing, the liquid plane bombing that were averted in 2006

Terrorism emanating from Pakistan is indeed a great threat.

Brown speaks to Zardari after arrest of 11 Pakistanis in UK

Brown speaks to Zardari after arrest of 11 Pakistanis in UK

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has asked President Asif Ali Zardari to do more to root out terrorism emanating from Pakistan’s territory after police in the UK arrested a dozen Al-Qaeda suspects, including 11 Pakistanis, over a ‘very big terrorist plot’.

“Prime Minister Brown telephoned President Zardari and the two leaders discussed matters relating to bilateral relations as well as the fight against terrorism,” Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said in Islamabad, without giving details.

However, Dawn newspaper reported that Brown raised concerns about links between terrorists in the UK and Pakistan and demanded ‘intensified efforts to crush militants’.

The telephonic conversation between Brown and Zardari follow resignation of the UK’s top counter-terrorism expert Bob Quick after a security blunder by the police officer, who inadvertently disclosed a covert surveillance operation against Al-Qaeda suspects, forcing premature raids by police who arrested 12 suspects, including 11 Pakistanis.

Earlier, Brown said in the UK that there are “links between terrorists in Britain and terrorists in Pakistan. That is an important issue for us to follow through…”
“One of the lessons we have learnt is that Pakistan has to do more to root out terrorist elements in its country as well,” Brown told Sky News.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

This is conspiracy by RAW, CIA and Mossad with MI-6 playing the lead role. These "Pakistanis" are actually robots.

The videos of their arrests are fake, just like the Sawat video. If you ask my cousin, who is a video expert, you can clearly see that one of the students shown actually has a metal hand and the his shalwar is not of the right size.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

Asked if this would become another high-profile raid ending with no one charged with terror offences, the chief constable of Greater Manchester, Peter Fahy, said: “There will always be situations where … either we can’t achieve the evidential threshold or as a result of the investigation we find that the threat was not how it appeared to us at the time.”

Searches were also being carried out in Highgate Street, Liverpool, where five men were arrested, one from Liverpool John Moores University campus.

Muhammad Adil, a student swept up in the raids at John Moores University but released after a couple of hours, said one friend was still being held. Adil, from Peshawar, Pakistan, said his friend was an accountancy student from Karachi. Adil had been studying in the UK for two years and met his friend at his part-time job as a security guard. “They asked me if I knew why I was being arrested – as suspect of terrorism, I was laughing at that. I’ve been studying for the last two years,” he said.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

One person was released - so all must be released

A few past arrests led to no cases - so all arrests are fake

But many have been convicted - but they were all convicted wrongly

Some people openly accepted responsibility for terror attacks - but they are all Jewish agents

And on and on it goes...

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

Govt should torture and kill any found guilty.

So what if theres been high profile arrests. Chances are there will be a low-profile end to the case.
Why are so many people quic to assume their guilt? Just because the Brit authorities have arrested people does not mean they will be charged or that they are even guilty of anything.

Theres far too much media hype on anything related to Muslims. Theres a strong emphasis on religion on any crime commited by muslims. You could steal a chocolate bar from a shop, get charged for it and the headline will run "muslim charged for theft!" or somewhere in the article religion will be mentionned.

I get the feeling that some people are very "when the white master says Jump we ask how high". You should change your mentality. The media loves to pick up negative things about muslims - of course we are not perfect and at times we love to give ourselves a bad name but seriously why not wait for an outcome before casting stones? Even extremist groups such as the BNP will wait for people the courts to pass sentence before opening their moves. Yet our own extremist Pakistani secularists have already made their decision.

This is not about conspiracy theories.

Asked if this would become another high-profile raid ending with no one charged with terror offences, the chief constable of Greater Manchester, Peter Fahy, said: "There will always be situations where … either we can't achieve the evidential threshold or as *a result of the investigation we find that the threat was not how it appeared to us at the time."

At least Peter Fahy a chief constable of GM Police is not even saying anything. Why cant he just say even we, the Brish police, with all the technology and intelligence at our disposal often make mistakes?

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

two of them have been released.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

Pakistanioon ko aur kio kam nehi hai?

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

It is just a political stunt and media hype arrest to put pressure on Pakistan to DO MORE. The arrests were made using sheer force, just to show the stupid gora public as to how much they care about protecting them and make an example for others. The Goras knew they will easily get away with it as Pakistani Govt does not have the guts to protect its people. One bangladeshi has been released, I suspect by the interuption of its Govt.
Moreover, the Goras do not need Pakistani students anymore, as they are taking up local jobs. Aik teer me bahut sey shikar. So far, nothing has been found, even the BBC says the plot was at aspirational stage, so the case will not stand up in any court. The students will be released quietly.
Shame on Pakistani Govt for being so sheepish, they should dispatch a high level delegation and ask for some solid proof. If they were students and were doing illegal jobs, at worst, they should be deported, not used as tools to willify and smear other Pakisatani students and the Govt.

Pakistani ‘terror plot suspects’ to be deported rather than charged - Times Online

they cant just deport them. thats wrong. they are either guilty or innocent. they came on legal visas. i hope the pakistani gov stands up for them if they are innocent.

Re: 11 suspects in British anti-terror raids Pakistanis: police

Looks like it is Gordon Brown whose country needs to do much more than catching innocent civilians, such cry babies. “Very big terrorist plot”, sure.
