Re: 11 Hindu Extremists jailed for raping a Muslim sister & murdering her family
Kudos for editing the post.
A few days ago, I addressed Reza Pehlavi and one another poster as ignorant and hateful (nothing more, nothing less) and justifiably so coz of their habitual remarks on India. And what I got was a warning from you.
My question to you ravage: Is addressing the whole Hindu community as animal worshippers a lesser sin than addressing 2 posters hateful and ignorant?
I dont want you to warn PD, but I just want to see your response to my question.
infiniti, warnings are private, speculation on what is warned and what isnt is usually pretty unfounded, in general.
when there is a problem we take it up with you privately. so yes, i asked you not to call posters hateful/ignorant. thats not kosher, along with myriad other names such as buffoon, stupid idiot, moron, jackass, etc etc. Thats pretty easy. Its not as straightforward in this case though.
there was atleast one post by (presumably) a Hindu asking why its offensive to be called an animal worshipper, and there is one subsequently since I removed posts. And while a reductive characterization of Hinduism, animals are gods to quite a few Hindus. I didnt have reason to believe that the term warranted removal and warning, as opposed to certain other name calling of Hindus we have given points for, involving cow urine for example. I dont know many Muslims offended by an "invisible God worshipper" epithet.
However, people decide what is offensive for them as a group, not outsiders. Since it was reported as offensive by quite a few Hindus, it was removed. Since I havent been removing the phrase before this point, I cant give warnings for it right off the bat.
