10 years - seems lot. I may not be the ealiar lot who joined Gupshup or who had a profound impact on it but I have seen a lot of drama over the years.. for the newest lot I have been too lazy to follow the crowd due to my pre-occupations..
11th July 2000 when I was student in USA I had a great time at gupshup enjoying its politics and frantic scenes. As an newcomer I used to refresh pages to se who replied to my stupid posts. One thing i love to state that it was great company especially at chat with Kaka-Atom_Bomb, alezay, NorwayGirl, X2, NYAhmadi, Waheed, Engrezi, etc… Best part was there wasnt anything that serious be it religion section or politics..
I thank all those who gave me company and still look forward for gupshup success…

I have a very strange relationship with GupShup. I know of its existence from its early days (from around 2001-2002) but never joined it.
I joined this forum in 2005 and never posted till May 2010 :)
I had been finding this forum on search results in Google (whenever I search for anything related to pak) throughout that time but never found it interesting enough to participate.
Best part was there wasnt anything that serious be it religion section or politics..
there wasn't anything serious in religion and politics forums?? You must not be venturing much there back then. From '98 until few years onwards was the time when dark evil forces of chaos, mayhem and revenge would run amok on these two forums. No mercy, no prisoners taken! All you had to do just open a single thread in any one of these forums about qadyanis vs muslims, sunni vs shais, Pakistanis vs Indians and there would be instant bloodbath and public lynching of your opponents with cries of despair of the victims shaking up the entire board.
Despite highly passionate and partisan views, the quality and depth of discussion was way superior to what those two forums have been reduced to lately.
