hey all,
I am mashallah 10 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby. Yesterday, I saw blood while peeing. I got so scared that I went straight to ER. Doc in ER did an ultrasound and there was a heartbeat. alhumdulliah. they also checked me thoroughly and told me to rest completely from now onward. Today again i saw some spotting.
I work full time. i am worried that I might not be able to rest as much required. I was thinking to take it easy at work and not do any household chores.
Does any of you experience that during your first trimester? If so, is this normal? Do you think that I would be ok with working full time in this situation?
Please Advise, I am so worried.
i havent experienced it though, bt i think its smthing u should take notice of.. it might be a minor thing, bt u shud definately consult a gynaecologist and if she advice u rest, u shud go on the bed rest… its ur first baby n u should be much careful abt it.. job comes below on priority list… may Allah bles u n ur baby.. ameen
Once heartbeat is seen at 9 weeks the risk for miscarriage goes down to 3% so IA you should be fine. In Pakistan people are obsessed with bed rest but as long as you don’t over exert yourself keeping active would be helpful and would actually prevent formation of blood clots which you are more prone to in pregnancy. Also please don’t go on bed rest. You need to stay mobile.
I had the same thing at 8 weeks, but the ultrasound showed a heat beat like yours and I went on to have a healthy baby Ma Sha Allah. Now, thing is what was the reason for the bleeding? You should ask your doctor. They didn’t tell me to do bed rest or anything, but I did rest for a few days after this episode. I experienced very minor bleeding at 19 weeks too, still no bed rest was advised. If your doctor told you to rest then you should.
I hope you have called the doctor by now. None of us know your medical history so we can’t advice you on something like this. For some, it’s perfectly normal to have spotting but for others it’s not so only your doc knows the best.
Ask your doc about working too, sometimes they give you a letter to pull you out of work, if necessary.
Thank you all for the reply. I have an appointment with my gynecologist on Feb 25. until then i am going to take it easy at work.
ER docs told me that it happens sometimes but i should consult with my gynecologist since they didn’t have my history.
I will see what happens after Feb 25 appointment.
Dear, read Surah Maryam for your child protection and Read Surah Baqarah once in ur every 9 month. ALLAH will keep ur child safe, healthy and protected. Keep following with ur doctor and take good rest and healthy food.
Hey koolcheme - I’m also in early stages of pregnancy - 11 weeks. Mubarak ho! I had spotting and bleeding continuously for about 2 weeks straight - this was in about week 5 of my pregnancy. I was really worried but I did rest a lot as the midwives told me to put my feet up: less movement means less bleeding. But if it’s not possible for you to rest too much then just do what you can, and try not to stress. I noticed when I was stressed my bleeding was more, so try to relax yourself, and inshAllah it will stop and it will work out fine
