take a caliberated milk jug - that has the MARKS on it
start filling it up with your 10 fl oz cup
keep counting cups untill the jug is filled to the 1 liter mark
do the math yourself

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons = 1/4 pint = 150ml
300 ml = 10 fl oz = 1/2 pint
thus, 1 cup = 10 fl oz
