10,000 kee balian ya kangen

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

i mean if a person can afford it...phir why not :p

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

Yes if you can afford it why not.
Wese bhi you only get married once.
I believe in having big nice weddings
not to show off but to celebrate your day.

If one likes nice, elegent, expensive things
does that automatically make them a materialistic?

Does spending money on luxury means you are a show off?
Ofcourse there are people who do it to show off but then
there are others who do it for their own happiness.

Fine let's have a simple wedding but then will we also
settle for a simple/small house or a car? Simple inexpensive clothes?
If there is no point on spending money on a big wedding then there shouldn't be any point in having other luxuries. After all we are only in this world temporarily.

I rest my case and hope noone is offended. :)

THANK YOU !!!

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

well, personally i like imitation jewelery (but dont wear it), gold designs are also superb but i always prefer to buy diamond jewelery from my own pocket n demand it from my hubby on special occasions only.

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

ok, this is off the topic, but it kust reminded me of my maasi, she bought her daughter imitation jewelery for her nikah, but kept on calling is ITIMATION, lol.... obviously she doesn't know english so she was just regurgitating what she'd heard.

ok, on with the discussion....

my POV; har insaan ko apne auqaat ke hisaab se spend kar ne chahye, i mean if u rn't not filthy rich, dont give ppl the impression that u r, and even if it wasn't about ppl, Allah SWT doesn't like ppl who do israaf... i guess all of us can best judge if we are indulging in israaf or not. On the contrary, no one shud go out of their way to look less then their financial worth... a balance has to be striked.

About the $10000 earings, my mentalitiy is that i could buy a kazillion (ok, maybe do-char less then a kazillion) less-expensive earings for that cost, one to match every suit i own :)

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

and besides very very few ppl wear real gold now, especially in pakistan, b/c of the high rate in crime and robberies, not to mention the prices are way too high for anyone to really afford… thats why you see alot of sets that have little bit of gold but more beads…I think up to a few years ago it wasn’t really appropriate/accepted to wear artificial, at least for married women, much less brides…like it HAD to be real sona, but nowadays you’ll even see new brides wearing huge artificial sets or earrings when going out, so it’s getting more acceptable.

anyways on topic, most of the ppl who have big bashes and stuff, are doing it just for hteir own khushi… i believe i said this in another thread, but unless you’re marrying that person and you (or your family) has to foot hte bill for it, why should it bother you how others are celebrating the most important moments of their lives? Not everybody is exceptionally cheap with every single aspect of their lives, we all have things/moments that we decide are worth the extra money, in weddings and life…

Nobody says that saadgi won’t work in today’s time… i think whomever wants to have a simple wedding is more than welcome to it, and that’s good for htem…but that doesn’t give them a right to act holier-than-thou b/c someone else wants to celebrate. You don’t like it when people will assume that you’re being kanjoos by having a simple wedding so why say that someone who wants the opposite is bragging and showing off their wealth?

Re: 10,000 kee balian ya kangen

exactly!

in summation (lol i feel like my soapbox rant needs a summation): weddings, i think are the most personal occasions we get to plan in our lives and frankly, you’ve gotta do what you want, how you want- and whether its within your means or not is your own call.
