1 year old

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for displining a 1 year old. Would time outs be the best and would he understand what is going on? If i put him in time out what should i say to him to where he will understand?:hmmm:

Re: 1 year old

I reckon you should wait till he's two, if you think he's naughty now, he's going to be terrible then!

I jest.

You could try time out, have no idea if it will work. Im trying to recall SuperNanny but nothing comes to mind right now.

Whatever you do decide, make it consistent.

Re: 1 year old

:hmmm:

Re: 1 year old

Nothing much at age one, except being consistent…

but how much shaitaani can a one year old really do? Hmm, crankiness maybe, or being fussy maybe… all those things, you’ll figure out the whys and then you’ll know the hows.

It’s when you have a 6 year old daughter you can’t understand the whys because their hormones kick in that early if you know what I mean

Re: 1 year old

Consistency is very key...but they say time outs are for kids that are a bit older I think. Your little is still very young. Maybe tell us more details about the kinds of probs? Hugs! I know how tough it can get! :) hang in there

:hehe:

Re: 1 year old

yeah one year is a bit too early for timeouts or disciplining a child.
Two year is a good time to start shaping them into human species! :)

Re: 1 year old

just imagine throwing stuff out of the closets and slamming doors, eating crayons and always running ahead :bummer:

Re: 1 year old

Eating crayons is cool ok! Especially the glitter ones!

Always running ahead is normal for a child who has just learnt to walk.

Re: 1 year old

:hehe: milly how eating crayons is cool.today i just went to answer the phone and he ate banana with its chilka:omg:

Well Sheen, you become the colour of the crayon! Its so cool. If you want to be yellow, eat a yellow crayon. Its the rules innit.

Sheen being a mod don't you think at least you shouldn't be copy/pasting stuff from other forums or sites as your own questions?

Re: 1 year old

i didnt get a reply in that forum so i simply open a thread here.why should i explain to you, that how many sites i visit.kindly answer my question or simply GET out.btw you will find the same thread on 2 other sites too.if u are soo eager to see that ..PM me i will tell you those sites name too:)

Re: 1 year old

Thanks for the offer Ashley Chow however I dont feel the need to PM anyone. Enoy the CTRL C funtion and I'll enjoy the lurking.

Re: 1 year old

btw dont forget i am ashley McCans too:@: this info will help you in future too:sheyn:

there is no policy against asking the same question on more than one site. Forget about other sites, Sheen can ask the same question here, and in her blog on this very same site..

You however should not post the links from other forums .. that is against our policy

Re: 1 year old

TLK my apologies for the forum link, I wasn't aware of that.
As far as asking the same question on more then one site goes thats fine as well.

But how do you explain lifting pictures and blog content from other peoples blogs and changing info to make it suitable for yourself. Anyways I hadn't posted all year... might as well go out with a bang. Happy New year.

if pictures are personal and the other party brings up that issue, then those pictures are removed.

as far as content is concerned, as long as someones privacy is not being violated, it might be OK. If the content is a copy right material, then its a different issue.

Anyway this is a feedback discussion, not Parenting forum ..

You can start a tread there if you want to

Re: 1 year old

timeout for 1 yrs is too early n will hav no effect. At this age the only thing that works is distraction n constant reminders.or just moving them out of the situation.

why not?

it is an open forum : )
