Why is Husain (A) regarded as the "leader of the martyrs" ? It is because he was not just the victim of an ambitious ruler. There is no doubt that the tragedy of Kerbala, when ascribed to the killers, is a criminal and terrible act. It is for this reason that the sacrifice of Husain (A) is commemorated annually throughout the Muslim world. Our sorrow never abates as we relive the tragedy. As Allama Iqbal says in his Baqiyat (in Urdu):

I am one who weeps at the plight of the Martyr of Kerbala
Won't the reward be given to me by the Keeper of Kauser (Imam Ali (A))
The commemoration of Ashura on the 10th of Muharram every year serves to remind us of the sacrifices of the family of the Prophet (S). It also makes us aware of the people, then and now, who tried to destroy Islam and the family of the Prophet (S) and all that they stood for - as well as those who watched, listened and did nothing.

Quite informative but did you mention that those who fought in Karbala were teen din kay bookay payasey.....did you mention Hazrat Abbas(A.S) son of Hazrat Ali (A.S) who went to get water (without bringing his sword), for the little children and Sakina (daughter of Hussain (A.S.) but was carried back by Hussain without both his hands which were cut off in his attempt to get the water to the children .....did you mention 18 year old Ali Akbar (hum sakaley Mohammad(pbuh)....jis kay jegar pay teer lagee....did you mention 14-year old Qasim (jis kay jesum kay tukaray keyay gay)....did you mention nanay Ali Asgher who was 6 month old and yet not spared from enemy........jis kay galay par teer lagay or khoon ka fofara us kay Baab kay cheray par laga.........
Events of Karbala is more than what you mentioned...you learn a lot from it.....more details for you would be very much appreciated......nice thread...keep it up.....:)
