I know of a way to hide a zip file within an image, so apparently it looks like an image, but you open it with winrar and voila 
I’m not sure about converting, but there is a way to mask a rar/zip file within any image file. Here’s how:
How to Hide any compressed file inside jpg image or any picture
1. In order to use this trick you need to compress i.e zip/rar files and folder you want to hide inside image files.
2. Now place this compress zip file and image file inside one folder say c:\hidetest’
3. Now go to doc prompt (command) and type cd c:\ hidetest.
4. Type copy /b image file name + zip/rar file name outputfile.jpg and press enter
Image file name :- Name of image file
Zip/rar file name :- name of compressed file you need to hide
That’s it, a new file outputfile.jpg will be created hiding your compress zip file. If you double click outputfile.jpg it will be displayed as normal image file and if you open outputfile.jpg with winzip or Winrar you can see your hidden compressed file.
