I understand your emotions but Most (nearly all) people assume that these people who suffered during that catastrophy were poor people and lived in backward areas.

This, my friend is a gross mistake. October 8 earthquake struck on the most prosperous areas of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. Those areas had highest literacy rate in Pakistan and almost all the children of school going age went to schools. There were lowest ratio of crime, malnourishment and unemployment in those areas. Those people who had to live in tent vilages had well maintained houses and they were living a good life.

No doubt poverty is rampant in Pakistan, But ratio was very low in those areas
