Absolutely!
Only a small minority in Pakistan truly thanks Allah swt for awarding us this beautiful country.
We treat our land as if we are foreigners and only be here for few hours before flying off to US/UK/EU.
We are willing to burn down our homes, bomb our schools, and kill our officers and jawans all in the name of some imported fascism.
This is the MOST important points of all.
We are the richest group on families basis in the region. Our homes, our cars, and our mansions are the envy of Chinese, Indians, Afghanis and Iranis.
And yet our tax system is among the most pathetic systems.
I blame it on the people, but also on the educated elite that never asked for a better system.
Had we introduced a tax return system similar to the American system, we would have improved our revenues even when our tax rates were lowered from current ceilings.
However we do not have brains to figure out a way to make the tax collection system better than what we have now.
Think about this,
if you live in defense, and your taxable income is equal or less than Nazimabad, then you should get a letter from the CBR saying “Bhai sahib” Kuch to khiyal kurain.
The only exception should be the retired people who may be living out their golden years after spending all their savings to build a home in defense.
