ok, lemme use some arbitrary numbers for sunset and sunrise…
sunrise 7 am
sunset 7 pm
time in between = 12 hours
12/2 = 6
7 am + 6 hours = 1 pm
so the zawaal time is in between 1 pm
you don’t do any reading of Qur’aan or do salaat between 12:45 pm and 1:15 pm.
in practice though, people wait for zohr time…as a rule of thumb!
