Re: Zardozi

I went to Pakistan in March to shop for my September 2011 wedding here in the US. Zardozi was one of the first places I went to. They don't have a ton of designs but out of what they had, I loved one in particular. In the end I was trying to decide between a design at Karma and one at Zardozi. Since I liked them both equally and the Zardozi was much more inexpensive I went with Zardozi.
My outfit was red lehenga with a lot of kaam and plum/purple colored trim. I worked with Kashif and he was excellent. I made quite a few changes to the original design since I wanted it to be more "blingy". I substituted diamentes for the pearl work, changed the color of some of the stones in the kaam and asked them to do a "chatta" of crystals/swarovski instead of sequins all over the kameez and dupatta. I was a little nervous that they wouldn't remember or carry out the changes but they did everything perfectly!! I loved how my wedding dress turned out. I opted my have my kameez made long (a few inches below my knees) to look more like the current fashion and they even made me a matching plain silk trouser so that I can wear the kameez later (I had to make my own simple dupatta to match).
My outfit also fit perfectly and I didn't have to make any alterations. I got a ton of compliments on my dress. I would recommend working with Kashif if you can. My outfit was ready on time, 5 weeks after we placed the order. I had already come back to the US by then but my mom picked up the dress and made sure everything was done correctly. I'm a stickler for things though so I called Kashif about 2 weeks before the due date to ask him if everything was going well haha.
So in the end I had a great experience. If you are looking for something very unusual or modern you may not find it here but they have some very nice traditional designs.

Re: Zardozi

wow seems like you had a great experience with them, nice!

Re: Zardozi

well i went to zardozi recently like 2 weeks back...seriously i am not at allll fond of their work...kaaam is supposed to be kaam... that should have some pattern some motifz something like that....they do too much with the stones/diamonties...i saw almost 10 to 12 dresses there samples and orders too...but sorry to say yuckie collection they had... working with stones is easier...put gum gun on thousand points and throw the diamonties..when after sometime period due to heat in our country gun loosens then dress is just left with gum marks and no stones...thats y im so against diamonties...it ruins ur dress after sometime...

Re: Zardozi
