Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

The article was published only in Jang and was not there in "The News", so sorry Ali_R for the english link....as far as Mr. Zardari is concerned he clearly stated in his first press consference after the death of BB that Mr. Amin Faheem is their candidate for PM slot....the article in Jang quotes Zardari clearly going back on his words...by declaring it's too premature for Mr. Amin Faheem to be declared the candidate for PM slot...

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

every person who is not supporter of PPP, should support zardari to become PM if they win.

definitely end of PPP will also be written by the hand of its damad "Zardari".

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

Do you want PPP to end or is it Pakistan? :hoonh:

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

^^^ so end of PPP politically mean ?? end of PAkistan?? I dont think anyone, apart from PPP no one else has caused damage to Pakistan in terms of geography.
Pakistan will stay inshallah, no matter what party/person/lota comes and goes!

certainly PPP will die if they chose Zardari to be PM after they win the elections and thats a smaller "if"

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

No... what I mean is that you want people to rally behind Zardari so it will end PPP, but by making Zardari PM of Pakistan would mean end of Pakistan in almost all possible ways.

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

Phew. So President Musharaf is saving Pakistan afterall. :)

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

yea, almost anyone other than Zardari is capable of doing that, so yea, Musharraf = anyone :p

Seriously speaking, Zardari's damage would be in different way than Musharraf's damage. Musharraf's era has seen rise in bombings, Zardari's era (naooz billah) would be loot-maar of everything, extra-judicial killings, corruption of whoever is not corrupt now etc.

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

well one thing is for sure - the whole nation does not want musharaf to go - from what i gather quite a good chunk support him still.

and if i had to choose between zardari and mushy - i d go for mushy. it would be a disgrace if someone like zardari took over pakistan. the very thought of it makes me sick. BUt who knows he could do a better jobn than allof them ?

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

The bombings are not Musharafs fault - they are a by-product of everything that has gone on since 2001 or even the 1970's. I do think it is unfair that Mushy is blamed for the groth in bombings - I think this would ave happened under any other leader too.

People might consider Lal masjid as a reason why the suicide bombings took place - these people who are involved in this were probably only looking for an excuse. It would not have been long before they would have found another excuse. People can raise qestions on whether he dealt with al qaeda in pakistan properly or not but the only way to have dealt with it ina more forceful manner would have been to bomb the region completely - but then again INNOCENT lives would be lost and does anyone want that??

I think any of the current civilian rulers would make things worse. Benazir could have sent in the army into Waziristan but that would have inflamed the situation more. Nawaz sharif could have doen the same or even cozied up to the Mullahs which would be asking for trouble.

Re: Zardari is a candidate for Prime Minister

It is always going to be "if he/she was in power", but what we see is Musharraf almost never took an action until water was over head, someone called from outside. Lal Masjid saga was the last one if I remember correctly where he waited for a call. What was govt doing in 6 months before that? Waiting to get challenged? We all know how the Lal Masjid folks were getting by in previous years (even in Musharraf years), how militants keep capturing every other post (not just now), how militants seize towns but they are only "driven out" (escape, not capture) etc.... There are many many issues in the govt related to this.
