4 Umar Akmal is a star batsman in the making, but he isn't yet ready to shoulder the burden of the batting. He needs more guidance on how to build a Test innings, although who would he ask for help?

I don't understand what's so hard to learn about Test batting. You, I and EVERYONE in this forum, who has never in their life played a first class game, let alone a Test, knows how to build a Test innings. You need to be patient, wait for the right balls to hit, etc etc. Why's that so hard to understand? And this goes for ALL other Pakistan batsmen as well. There's experience, and there's common sense. Experience will tell you how to play a ball on bouncier wickets in Australia, and how to play on seaming wickets in England. Common sense tells you that when you have 1 and a half day to bat, you don't need to try to hit every ball.

Umar Akmal may not have the experience, but he should have the common sense. Most other batsmen have the experience as well. Common sense tells you that you should play with a straight bat, move your feet to the pitch of the ball, call out loud and clear with a YES or a NO when taking a run, not to dance down the wicket or play a rash shot when a new bowler is introduced, do not throw away your wicket when settled, etc. etc., yet these are the mistakes committed again and again by our players.

Maybe Khurram Manzoor should partner Salman Butt in England this year (6 tests v England and Australia). L/R combination is always very handy

I believe this should be our top 5 in tests: Salman Butt, Khurram Manzoor, Younis, Yousuf and Umer

6 - ??......we are still searching for an answer

Malik is not really a test batsman
