There are two categories of batsmen now.
Past greatest performers:
Sachin Tendulkar
Brain Lara
Inzamam Ul Haq
New greatest performers:
Ricky Ponting
Rahul Dravid
Muhammad Yusuf
Since Dravid is better than Sachin in over two years, I see the same shape of Muhammad Yusuf taking over Inzamam Ul Haq slowly in terms of performance.

Yousuf and Ricky cannot be considered in league of Dravid. For this to happen Yousuf will have to score in AUS & SA and Ricky need to score in test matches in subcontinent. Both of them are yet to proof that they can do it. Among current lot, Only Tendulkar , Lara and Dravid have proven that they can score on every kind of surface. Actually Dravid is the one who has consitatnly played better on tough wicket and outside his country.

There can be only two reasons for such childish comparisons (1) these comments were made by a child or (2) these were deliberatly made to make Yusuf the centre of attention or target of international criticism.
Unneccessary and provocative, all these players are excellent cricketers who have served their countries with great honour.

One golden year does not make Yusuf better than Ponting. If he contines this run, then yes he may be but have a look at the most runs in calendar years. Ponting features quite prominently in that list and a few years back he averaged 100.2 in a year, higher than Yusuf’s 93 this year.
This is not to take anything away from Yusuf, currently he is timing the ball like no one else. However, for him to be regarded better than Ponting, he will need to keep this form up and :insha: he will.

One can only make these type of comparisons at the end of each one,s career , Although even then, there can be so many different Barometers to determine the greatness of a player that it is almost impossible to compere them even then.

Yousuf is better than kafirs Ponting, Darvid or Lara.. Yousuf did a right thing by converting to Islam. Islam is the only religion while others are not. I always knew one day he would convert and correct his parents' mistake of not converting to the most modern religion

Muhammad Yusuf is not better than Ponting yet. Look at Ponting performances vs England now. He made over 100 runs in first innings and 50 not out now. But if Muhammad Yusuf continues playing like this, then he may lead Ponting.

^ Just because Ponting made these runs you are saying Yousef is not better than him. Yousef scored many more runs against England and that also in England where one batsmen called Ponting was struggling. Yousef might not be better than him but such comparisons are ridiculous.

You are right, but until now, Ricky Ponting is number one. He has enormous number of centuries. Muhammad Yusuf is catching up, along with his consistency. Let's see what the future tells us.

The likely future is that Ponting will break the most number of centuries scored in test match history and will also become the leading scorer.
