Pakistan of course is everyone's favorite thru thick and thin. We get mad at the players, but deep down in heart, they know we still love them :)

My second fav is New Zealand, mainly because I feel sorry for the way their big brothers Australia treat them. New Zealand is more of a level headed team, not too hyped up, Chris Cairns is one of the best cricketers in the world.. etc.

What everyone is trying to say is, if Pakistan were eliminated, cheering for a 2nd team to take the competition gives you a will to watch with the same enthusiasm. For instance, I really hate Australia, so for sure I will cheer my head off for NZ to whip them.
By that logic, I assume you are referring to defeats. However, you should be very happy about India, considering they have a very inferior record compared to Pakistan…
My second team is the Windies!!! Eventhough they disspointed me yesterday, I still have hopes…
Since Ehsan did not like my second best team (he deleted my post) so I would instead pick up my third best - NAMIBIA for the simple reason that they make farce of the World Cup. Its like if my mohalla was a country, my mohalla team would would get a chance in the World Cup too. So much for the "WORLD CUP".

Giving BD Test playing nation status is ridiculous. As if to prove that point they were 4 wickets down even before the first over of the innings had ended against Sri Lanka yesterday...
As for Namibia/Holland etc., they make me think that perhaps CRICKET is the only game where it is easier for a country to qualify for the World Cup than for regular international matches. Imazine India playing Brazil in Soccer World Cup just because India won a tournament involving C-grade soccer playing countries.

NO shame in that. West Indies had a major collapse against Zimbabwe in 2001. They were 31 for 8. Managed to score 91 total. Were chasing 139 to win.

Someone jee it wasn't the choice of your team I didnt like, it was the accompanying comments that I didnt like. If I had left them then I would have ended up deleting another 20 posts. :)
Waisey I agree that many of these teams playing in world cup would lose to college teams from Pakistan and India.
BD's test status should be reviewed and may be Kenya should be given one instead.
Instead of giving test status to teams like Bangladesh or Kenya, they should be sent to a major test playing nation and make them play test matches against county teams.
Kenya were sent to Srilanka for a 2 test match series a while back and they did horrible.
As of rightnow none of the minnows deserve a chance to be given a status.
