I think the newer generation would like that, yes. But if you look at most desi couples around you, do they really come across as being interested in discussing anything other than household/family matters with each other? I know of a couple, the woman is a dentist (not working) but she is so suppressed by her husband that even if she voiced her opinion, he’d probably be like “pfftt what do you know?” May be some people even label opinionated women as being “tez” or “shaatir” …
Anyway, as I said, my man better care about my opinion and not treat me like I don’t have a clue about what’s going in the world.
