I agree.. although it'll generate some interest in the movie, when 'couples' appear together their every move (esp. in a lovey dovey movie) will be used as a baramoter to measure the intensity of their lovelife off-screen, and vice-versa. Silly as the notion is.

off-hand I can't really recall a good 'couple' movie at the mo except Eyes Wide Shut, which was awright but not spectacular.

yeah... i havent seen any good ones either.... actually i dont watch any normal movies.. so that prob explains it..

what do ya mean by 'normal' movies? lol

hehe i mean normal 'hollywood' flicks..

lol, in tha case most hollywood flicks are anything but normal.

of course, that would make indian films bormal and pakistani ones lormal. :mudhosh:

hehehe.... very funny

i dont get time to watch 'h/normal movies... but bollywoods stuffs always at home... and well.. thats far from normal..

ah right.. well I hardly watch the bollywood stuff, unless it's offering something unique that hasn't been tackled before. no use watching the same 5-6 concepts being rotated with different faces every other movie.

so assuming ur a reg. bollywood movie watcher, what hollywood movies do ya think are good fare?

what hollywood movies or bollyoowd?

hollywood... lemme think.. i actually liked Dogma quite a bit... and Heaevn & Earth... others i cant remember as i havent watched that many..

if we're talking bollyood.. hmm good stuff is like 'dil chahtha hai' which uve prob seen..

i like the older stuff.. ie bemisaal, shakti, mandi, ijazat, masoom hmm these are classics... they dont follow the conventional bollywood plot..

oh Dogma was good, nice choice..but quite old. There've been quite a few good flicks you'd be sure to enjoy then that've been released after that.

I can prolly count the bollywood movies I've liked on my fingers, (and perhaps count all the ones I've ever seen if I used my fingers and toes :p). Dil Chahta Hai, Lagaan, Andaz Apna Apna, Hera Pheri, Fire, some Nana Patekar movie, and Sattay pay Satta (an old one). I'm sure there were a few more , esp one with Ajay Devgan in it and one horror one.

dayng, listed more than just that can be counted on fingers.

tempted to put a Hrithick Roshan thumb joke here

But I shan’t, been too naughty for one night

kewl... u seem to have good choice... hehe... i havent seen fire.. im kinda scared to be watching that with the fam around.... its a no go area...

yeah ajay devgan movies are excellent... i knew he was gonna be big one day... u must be talking about this 'Company'..

u want me to recommend some good stories to u? i could go on and on... but indian movies cant beat paki dramas.... if u ever get the desire or chance... watch 'Ajaib Khana'.. u'll be amazed :)

oh safe, sure.. recommend away, I don't have much of a reliable resource on those typa movies anyway..and seems to me we gotta taste on such ones on pretty much the same wavelength here. :-)

I agreee, pak dramas are just amazing, and apart from quality of acting they've have been a real help in helping me learn about the real culture back home. The lil' nitty gritty things I prolly wouldn't have been aware about had I not watched 'em.

oh kewl so ur into paki dramaz? i havent watched one for over a year.... long story.. need to get back into them..

yeah arent they a good help for people like us who live overseas? and also a good reality check.. people back there are so damn modern.. !! ive got a huge list of good paki dramaz... but i'll spare u the torture..

hmm good indian flicks... uve pretty much seen most of the ones i would have said.. hmm wat else..

  • safar
  • earth
  • bombay
  • road
  • saathiya (a lot of people think the end is unrealistic.. but i think it is.. my mama was in a similar situation.. so shes living proof of indian endings hehe)

well I have lived in environments with a heay desi influence over the yrs (not so much in pak though), but I'm not too big on the entertainment front.. so while I am in touch with the culture quite a bit, what they show in the dramas has given me more insight into it then woulda been the case otherwise..

yeah I've seen earth.another good movie..I've heard a lot abt bombay, never managed to catch it though, it's about the bombay riots of the mid-90's right?.. anyway, gracias for the list..I'll try to check 'em out sometime..

btw If you enjoyed Dogma, you'd prolly also like Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction, Chasing Amy, Magnolia and The Hurricane.

anyway, was nice chit-chatting with ya..but it's approaching the wee hours in my neck of the woods, so I best call it a night now. Take care then, and a good morning/evening/night to ya. :)

thanx for the list… i think ive seen chasing amy :hoonh: i have no idea what i watch..

well goodnight/shaba khair to u.. im gonna try to do something in the last 45 minutes i have… and then im outta here..

catch ya laterz

lol, I think I understand that expression on Chasing Amy, but it really is a pretty awright film if u disregard a few things..um here and there..

aight then, looks like you've had a productive enough time at 'work' ;)
don't waste the rest of those 45 min..too much

later..
wassalam

hehe yes quite suprisingly ive done a lot today..... dont know how i manage to do it though :)

yeah i may have seen it.... im trying to think hard..

oh yeah... if u want.. try seeing 'Lajja'.. pretty interesting

35 minutes to go

1)movies i'd pay to see for more than the third time [eg DDLJ, MNPK, KKHH...] and then will watch them at home whenever i get the chance...

2)movies i'd pay to see for the third time [eg kaho na pyaar hae] and then will watch them at home...

3)movies i'd want to see again but probably not for the third time unless i'm really bored [eg mein prem kee deewani hoon]...

4)movies i saw once but will not see again unless i'm really bored [eg. devdas]...

5)movies that i regretted after watching and would not watch again even if someone paid me [eg. kaante]...
