Re: your hair color experiences
Initially when I was a teen I got caramel highlights, as is right of passage for all desi girls. Looking back it it looked terrible but more so because the stylists dyed thick strips of my hair. I then got purple highlights, then red, then purple again, and mehndi in between there. Recently I did my tips purple which turned red, and then a shade of rusty orange which i personally didn't mind. My hair is fine. Just don't over do it, simples.
Re: your hair color experiences
What is your natural color and what color did you have done?
What technique was used?
What was the starting condition of your hair (as in: healthy, dry, damaged, etc) and how did the color affect the condition of your hair?
How long did the color last and did it fade well?
My natural color is dark brown. I started getting greys in my early 20's and that's what prompted me to consider coloring my hair. For the first few years, I used to go to a salon and get full highlights every 4-5 months. I used to get red/burgundy or light brown highlights. Never bleached my hair.
Once I got over the "highlighting phase", I started coloring my hair at home. I use Ion demi permanent color on my entire head every 2-3 months using coconut, mustard, or amla oil. Main reason I color is to cover greys. I usually use a color that's similar to my natural color.
The Ion demi color fades well. Each time, a week or two before I'm about to color, I oil my hair 3-4 times. My hair is not damaged. I also get my layers/ends trimmed every 6 months.
Re: your hair color experiences
I have Jet black hair and wouldn't change it for anything.
Re: your hair color experiences
I never had anything like this but when it comes to change the look i so want to have it but i'm also afraid as i saw many of girls around me having ugly harsh white hair.
i did go through rebounding twice alhumdulilah that didn't affect much as naturally i have thin but quite healthy long hair masha'Allah.
