Actually, no. By any sensible definition of what a Muslim is, acording to the Quran itself, this is not a very good act. I’m all for keeping a distance and even a respectful silence on your neighbours faith, but this participation is at best feigned or most likely done for fear of backlash.

Perhaps a Hindu approached muslims and asked them to do this…and they felt obliged fearing a violent backlash.
Let us see some Hindus abandon these idols and start performing salat in the name of communal harmony…

Picoio, there are many hindus who pray at mosques. I have prayed at mosques. House o fallah is house of Vishnu to me. I have also prayed in churches synogues etc..we really don't care much for kneeling and bobbing as the only way to pray or ringing the ghanti and doing sajda infront of an idol o fkrishna. God is everywhere...

In my maternal grandmothers house, we had pictures of jesus, a quran among other hindu gods. there are many people out there with similar thinking. You calling them non-muslim or whatever is irrelevant. You don't count.

“not literal”? the Throne is surrounded (or circumambulated) by angels (Qur’an, 39:75), carried by other angels (Qur’an, 40:7, 69:17), has pillars to which Prophet Musa will cling on Judgement Day (al Bukhari, 4:610), it once shook (al Bukhari, 5:147), it gives shade (al Tirmidhi, 1329)… in what sense then is it “not literal”?

Indeed. So why bother with idols? In the Quran it says clearly that God looks down on such things. Pray in a mosque if you like, but if you are doing so and yet throw out the Quranic view on the matter, then why the heck are you in the mosque in the first place? Because you “don’t care”?

Confusion is not tolerance, although it may be a tolerable form of ignorance.

i dont understand the concept muslims are the only humans who can benefit from god's grace since they pray to" true god." is there any such thing as mutual loyalty between muslims and true god.

That is wrong. Allah’s grace is for all creations. He is Gracious to everyone. At the moment non muslims are in a much better position and state than muslims. Allah is being Graceful to them, more so than muslims.
