Interesting to note that no one has named 'Shair e Mashriq' as their favourite poet. Is he out of fashion now?

I’ve already said mera koi ik favorite nahin. her roz badalte hain. I just love Iqbal’s ‘kabhi ae Haqeeqat e Muntazir’, though I don’t find attracted towards the idea of glamorising Ghaznavi.

of course, i love him and his poetry. i mentioned him as "ustaad sho'araa~'...any Muslim who doesn't appreciate his poetry is surprising. his poetry gives so much encouragement to become an 'active Muslim'...God bless his soul...aameen

Although Ghalib himself was far prouder of his poetic achievements in Persian, he is today more famous for his Urdu ghazals. Numerous elucidations of Ghalib’s ghazal compilations have been written by Urdu scholars. The first such elucidation or Sharh was written by Ali Haider Nazm Tabatabai of Hyderabad during the rule of the last Nizam of Hyderabad. Before Ghalib, the ghazal was primarily an expression of anguished love; but Ghalib expressed philosophy, the travails and mysteries of life and wrote ghazals on many other subjects, vastly expanding the scope of the ghazal. This work is considered his paramount contribution to Urdu poetry and literature.

while we are at it.. i wanted tell have been watching poetry in your signature and loved it. You mentioned it was of your dad. May I ask his name and if any book of him that I can buy..:D
