I am of the opinion that respect should be earned and it shouldnt be given by virtue of position, where would there be an incentive to be a good parent. A lazy, rishwatkhoor abusive, lying cheating man who beats his wife and children is supposed to be respected the same way as a good father who is kind, gentle, hard working and put a lot of effort in raising kids..hmmm. Very logical indeed. It is nothing but mind control by the buddha folks.

The net effect of respecting people who are not worthy of respect is devastation of the society. The values of society are based on a system of punishments and rewards if bad behaviors get rewarded they will be repeated. So why would rewarding a bad behavior be such a noble deed? If society establishes that bad parents wouldn’t be respected many would have a huge motivation to be a good parent. So Gurcharan who is a big boy 6-2 basketball scholarship kid and his psycho dad is 5-7 punched him in the face, that man needs to be stopped. An abusive Pakistani father was killed by his son in NY, if I remember correctly and the media was sympathetic towards the boy. The man would beat the crap out of his wife and children. Is any respect owed to that man?

I am talking about bad parents for eg the Pakistani father who was killed by his own son in Brooklyn, he used to beat wife and children on a daily basis and molested his daughter..tau uss kai pair choomnay chahien, so if baap is an abuser and a raashi then he should be respected? Many killers, rapists, molestors are fathers. Being a father does not make one special but being a good father, husband and a good person does.
