is quote ka asal matlab hai.. keh agar kisi ne koi ghalat kaam kiya to usay ehsas hojana chahiyey tha apni ghalti ka and iss say seekhna chahiyey tha, but usne kuch seekha nahi and ghalti pe aur ghalti ki..

The quote is a play on words! The term wishbone here is used metaphorically (to wish for things to happen without taking the necessary steps to make the wish reality) in conjunction with ‘backbone’ (suggesting the strength needed to make the “wish” or desire happen.) In other words, don’t have your head so much in the clouds that you forget to strengthen yourself to make changes in your life, etc. Or at least that’s how I interpret it!

More practically, an actual wishbone is the furcula (a forked section) of a bird: CLICK.

My take on it is wishbone is very weak and people snap it. Father is telling his daughter to be strong and to have grit and gumption and not be broken as easily as a wish bone breaks.
