Re: Your favorite highlighter?
apple- highlighter is the opposite of contour: highlighter brings features “forward” while contour takes features “back”
there’s a really good MAC tutorial that shows this- i’ll see if i can find it tomorrow
so, the common usage is on the top of the cheeks (like above the blush- not overtop of it, but not too close to the undereye), on the bridge of the nose, and on the cupid’s bow (above your lip)
the shade depends on the shade of your skin and also what kind of look you’re going for- the formula depends on your skin type and also what kind of foundation you use (like if you use powder foundation you probably shouldn’t use liquid or cream highlighter, but you could probably use any formula highlighter with liquid foundation- i.e. powder, liquid or cream highlighter on top of liquid foundation)
it should be applied fairly lightly- you don’t want to look too shimmery- just subtle!
go to sephora or a department store cosmetics counter and they can help you choose the right shade and formula for you
