so is the influence of English culture, which is getting dominance day by day.
I do agree that Mughals influenced these fields, but did they really contributed towards some projects which provided foundation to the prosperity of the people of India?

According to me the greatest legacy of British empire is the policy of divide and rule. The western influence in today's India is more American than British.

few good thing British did was abolishing practices like Sati,Child Marriages while not destroying any of the religious places, profound scientific thinking in Indian masses with technology coming in better pace in India as Indians started looking outside their regional boundaries:)

How do you see empire of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh? Has its influences carried forward to today's society?

Lord Auckland(not sure) and her sister met Maharaja Ranjit Singh, she said maharaja looked like old mouse, though General was impressed by his personality. Maharaha asked why wasn’t general married, general replied that in Britain one could have just one in Britain if that turned out to be bad one he would be in trouble. Maharaja said that he had 26 wives and none of them can dare to be bad as he could beat them:D, general said that this was good rule and he would like to get it implemented in britain:)
