I always think its sad when people can't at least be friendly with those they were deeply emotionally involved with at one time. There's nothing wrong with talking to her. Of course, be honest with your wife and take her with you. They can exchange stories discussing your faults :) Besides, its been five years, its most likely she is just curious to know what's going on with you and wants to catch up.
