Your concept of Life after Death!

Re: Your concept of Life after Death!

The “Yama Samhita”, “Padma Purana”, “Anushasana Parva” are some of the main sources which tell you what happens after a human being dies. Apart from these 3 main sources, the 4 Vedas and the 6 Upanishads talk about death and how your karma affects you at multiple places. Hinduism does not have a fixed curriculum in matters of scriptures like how the Muslims have the Quran or the Christians have the Bible. Ours is more like a PhD study where you have to consult multiple references across various eras and then conclude the path of righteousness.

No life has never been identical to another one. And our 4 Vedas, 6 Upanishads, and 18 Puranas give us examples of innumerable permutations and combinations of good and bad. However, the crux of all examples explained in our books talk about just one thing - “As you sow, so you reap”. So, we are essentially taught only one thing and that is to follow Dharma or righteousness. Since we believe that a human has the most refined and sophisticated brain, we are expected to follow Dharma and in some certain cases decide what is right/wrong based on the examples quoted in our holy books. Any deviation from your Dharma affects your Karma. Thus, our religion is called as “Sanatana Dharma” which essentially means Eternal Dharma. Hinduism is rather a very recently coined term.
