Younger wife is key to happy marriage?

Re: Younger wife is key to happy marriage?

its a common desi perception actually, that explains all the 30 year olds marrying 21 year olds.

basing a marriage on how a couple MIGHT look like in 10 years time is pretty retarded

Re: Younger wife is key to happy marriage?

I can see how it would work out well but at the same time Im seeing a lot of marriages where wife is older then hubby and it works just fine.

It has to do more with mentality and how compatible the two are.

Re: Younger wife is key to happy marriage?

My understanding is, where there is a larger age gap i.e. younger wife, the wife would be more likely to listen to the guy and do things his way. If she doesn't feel the need to question him too much, they would both be happy.

However, if they are both the same age, they would both feel that they know equally well, i.e. disagreements.

Also, a younger wife will probably keep a slightly older man, wanting to stay young and fun, to keep her interested (subconsciously, at the very least), which will probably make them both do lots of fun stuff.

On the contrary, a same-aged couple might lose enthusiasm around the same time in their lives, to do a whole lot of fun stuff.

Disclaimer: This is just me theorizing. This, in NO means, means that age-gap is better. My personal opinion is that the two people should be mostly on the same page, which would be more likely if they are the same age. Yes, it might result in more disagreements, but you're both (most likely) intelligent. And intelligent exchange of opinions is necessary.

Also, age can indeed be just a number. It comes down to maturity, in the end.
